Interviewed Nov 2010 in Lemont, IL (took 4+ weeks)
Process started with an initial screening process, which essentially was just submitting a resume and hoping for the best. Half or more were cut at this point (rough estimation from what I saw). The fact that they came to my college helped significantly throughout the process, as you could converse and make a good impression prior to any invitation. After the initial screening, an informal dinner was held. The next day, a panel interview was done, mostly asking behavioral questions. The HR rep that interviewed was incredibly nice-- this made the process less stressful than most interviews. After the initial interview, approximately half were cut from the pool again. Finally, an all day site visit was held with 4 interviews (1 technical). It was actually coordinated incredibly well, and out of all the site visits I've been to, Citgo's was one of the best in terms of the questions asked during the interview process and the tours given. 16 people went, 4 were offered positions; therefore, all-in-all (for you engineers) you have about a 1/16 chance of getting a position, so it's fairly competitive. Just be yourself during the interview and demonstrate that you really want to work for them. It was pretty easy for me to be enthusiastic, especially because I wanted to work there a lot. Great people all over the place from what I experienced when I went, and they seem to really have a great tight-knit culture going on over there. I'm happy they offered a job to me.
