Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 2 months)
Phone interview then in person interview with headhunter. Then a meeting with HR lead. Date and time wasn't very convenient so I warned headhunter that I might be late. This turned out to be true but HR had no flex in time so interview cut short.
Then went totally quiet. No response to emails and telephone messages.
If you take things this far and a candidate gives up time twice, a simple yes/no wouldn't be too much to ask.

Interviewed Sep 2010 (took 2 months)
Interview process consisted of interviews and meetings. Mostly resume discussion with some what if scenarios. Found interviewers to be knowledgable in their field and well dressed. Once there was a discussion of accounting topics. When that happened, I was happy because I am trained in accounting. At other times there was a discussion of legal processes which was interesting.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 4 weeks)
The interview process was initiated after introduction to the job from a friend in the company. HR contacted through email then phone with details of the job position & requested I take an on-line personality test. The test consisted of 127 questions comprised of a ratings scale of 1-7 denoting strongly agree to strongly disagree. Questions included the likes of "You find it hard to express your emotions? You get on well with work colleagues, You like to be in control, you look at the fine detail etc.
After the personality test, a first interview was arranged with immediate line manager & other senior technical resource. Questions were generic & example based to assess my expertise in my area. Questions along the lines of: give an example of when you noticed something that had a positive effect on the company? Give an example of a time when you had to deal with a difficult colleague. Give an example of when you lead a team. Give an example of when you delegated responsibility etc. The interview was 1.5 hours long.
After the first interview I was invite dback for a second interview with department head & Head of HR. The interview was centred on my CV & personal statement & personal qualities. The driver of the interview was trying to understand my ethos, my commitment & my career objectives. HR was there to explain packages and remuneration. The interview was 1.5 hours long.
I was contacted within the week & an offer was made. Initial offer was rejected due to pay. This was modified & then accepted.
All in all liked the interviewers - the Department head was strong willed and seemed to have vision. He appeared to understand where he wanted the department to head & impressed upon me values that I hold in high regard - commitment to work, being the best & responsibility for actions.

Negotiation Details
I negotiated an uplift of approximately 7% on basic pay & had holidays increased to 27 days per year, 8 public holidays & 1 additional holiday. Advise for others - be prepared to work hard & beware of potential heavy political games.
