Interviewed Nov 2011 in Atlanta, GA (took 2 days)
Phone Interview followed by a one day round robin interview process. The one day contained two briefings on the company followed by three interviews each with two interviewers. The Interviews were followed by a role playing session where you had to handle a disgruntle employee and a panel session where they presented 6 candidates with a prompt and watched as we debated the subject and came to a group decision.

Reason for Declining
They will not disclose where you will ultimately be assigned until after you complete training. In addition, the compensation was low.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took a day)
After completing a finance skills test I received an invitation to interview at my university campus. A CSX recruiter from the finance department visited our campus career center to meet with six potential trainees. Two or three of the six were to be selected for another round of interviews at CSX headquarters. The interviewer asked for a brief rundown of my resume and asked a series of questions to get a better feel for how I would behave as an employee. Thirty minutes were allotted for the interview, but as he arrived to the interview late, the session lasted about 15-20 minutes. He was very friendly and there was no sense of pressure or tension during the process.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took 4 weeks)
The interview process is not over yet. I was farmed by a recruiter and then I still had to apply online. After initial screening of 12 people I was told, I was selected for a phone interview. Within two weeks the company paid for my transportation cost to interview me in person. There were three 1:1 interviews and one panel interview with HR, and two persons that I would be reporting too. I was first asked the typical initial question of why I was a good fit for which I had prepared about a 5 minute presentation. After that the interviewers took turns asking me questions and examples. I was asked a question for some specific covered business problems or situation, how I would resolve the issue and give an example of how I resolved similar issues or handled a similar situation. The questions were tough and the process took about three hours.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took 2 weeks)
My interview process consisted of an on-campus interview with a senior manager within the CSX finance group. Mostly behavioral questions and one or two questions regarding an airplane merger and how I would assess the opportunity as well as what to do with employees acting unethical.
After being invited to Jacksonville for the second round (final round), I arrived on a Thursday night and attended a dinner with 8 or 10 other candidates at a very nice restaurant. Interacted with a few different employees within the finance department ranging in seniority. One was the head of the finance management training program. The biggest requirement going into the final round was a case presentation that has been used for a number of previous years. It involves NPV investment analysis of potential factory locations for a fictitious company. The interview is timed to last about 20 minutes. I was presenting in front of 3 different managers and was asked a few specific questions throughout the course my presentation.
With the presentation, was two one-on-one interviews with managers within finance. Both were very much behavioral "tell me about a time" topics. Overall, very comfortable atmosphere throughout most of the interview process. I found out within a few days after returning home about their decision on my interview.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Selkirk, NY (took 3+ weeks)
The process is very disorganized. There seems to be a constant confusion among the people who are supposed to be interviewing candidates. Recruiters are quick to pop a stock instructional DVD in and leave the room. Good opportunity for anyone who isn't comfortable "shining" in an interview, as you don't need to sell yourself because no one is paying attention anyway.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took 2 weeks)
After receiving an email stating I needed to take a pre-employment assessment test, I had 48 to complete. The test consisted of a large section of personality traits then comprehensive reasoning and mathematical questions. The total assessment lasted about an hour and 45 minutes so give yourself plenty of time and a quiet place. The one downfall I have found about the application process is everything is only PC compliant. Very difficult to complete since I am a Mac user. Needs to get with the times and offer the availability to submit using Apple OS. About 4 days after completing the pre-employment assessment I received a phone call from Denise in HR who wanted to set up a 30 minute phone interview with Matrell Sanders who seemed to be the gatekeeper to the company. The Ms. Sanders called promptly at the scheduled time and kept the interview very short and to the point. The questions covered my past work experience, why I want to work for CSX, and a couple scenario questions. The next process is suppose to be a one on one with an sales executive then the top candidates would complete a case study. CSX is looking to finalize the hiring by the first of October so would be a month long process. I am still waiting on the one on one interview and figure I will not be receive one. Maybe will get one next time!

First round was a phone interview. They asked me basic HR questions and some questions about my projects which i wrote on my resume. After few days i got a mail from them stating that they would like to call me onsite for a 1:1 interview. They told me to bring a work sample along with me. On site i have met 3 to 4 people. Each one of them were managers. They told me about their role in the company and asked me few general hr questions and questions related to work sample i bought along. After two days they called me and informed that i was selected.
