Very Easy Interview
I applied in-person and the process took 3 days - interviewed at CVS Caremark in March 2012.
Interview Details – I responded to a store ad outside the store. The store manager was an immigrant Indian guy who asked me about my educational background. When I told him I have a masters degree in international economics, he asked why didn't I find a job in that area? (Let's keep in mind this was in the spring of 2012, amid the poor economic recovery following 2008.)
Now I've worked in many retail settings between college semesters, but this was the first time a store manager told me when you apply for a store job, you mark that you're available all seven days of the week. No one day off Sunday for church or nothing. He also told me the position was only part time, with very little chance of becoming full time in the near future. Sounds pretty typical in American retail these days. They want you to be available all the time, but won't give you full time hours, benefits, decent pay, nor regular hours. There are two other arrangements that come to mind: slavery and indentured servitude.
Interview Question – Why didn't you find a job with your degree. (The manager asked this in 2012, during the slow economic recovery). View Answer

Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at CVS Caremark.
Interview Details – Applied online. Long application. Got a call about 3 days later from recruiter. Set up phone interview time for a day later. Phone interview lasted about 30 minutes. Asked about prior experience, difficult situations, management style. Then went two stores on two different days to interview with store managers. Both were really not prepared or experienced with interviewing management level candidates. They seemed more nervous than me. Drug test followed. Rest of process took 3 months while the district manager tried to find a spot for me.
Negotiation Details – I did not negotiate. Offer was reasonable, $48,000
I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at CVS Caremark in June 2012.
Interview Details – Went on an interview with a District Manager. I got there early, I was well dressed & well prepared. I answered all the questions to their liking but things didn't work out well in the end for either of us.

Very Difficult Interview
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at CVS Caremark in February 2012.
Interview Details – Do not even waste your time if you are applying for a management position ,the management team used the group interview format and kept about 30 applicants for about 2 hours talking about the company and then after the first round of interview, the final 6 were asked to wait, then after one more hour waiting to be called, the final 3 were called and by that time I really felt like they were gathering info about other companies and I noticed that as some of the managers were leaving for the day, they kept talking about doing the same the next week. They offered the position but not before insulting me with a very low salary figure and explaning how lucky I was to be offered a job with "one of the best Co. to work for". I thanked them for their time and left.
Reason for Declining – Pay is terrible and they really think that they are the only show in town,
The process took a day - interviewed at CVS Caremark in July 2009.
Interview Details – First there is a few questions about why you want to be a Assitant Store Manager. Then, Interviewer try to incentivate a little more about the great benefits to be in a management position. About the benefits as annual bonus, biweekly payroll, life insurance, a lot of more benefits. They explain the minimum of 45 hours per week schedule that you need to achieve.
Interview Question – What you would do if a customer ask you for a item that we don't have in stock? View Answer
Negotiation Details – You can not negotiate because whatthey offer you normally is the standard by company basis. they just add couple dollar to your actual rate.
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at CVS Caremark in December 2008.
Interview Details – I applied online and was contacted within a few days to set-up a personal interview. I went to the Regional HR office and talked with the HR manager. We had a very good conversation and he told me he had several other people to talk with and would be back in touch within a week. I waited about 2 weeks with no response so wrote a thank you note telling him I enjoyed the meeting and was sorry to hear I was not being considered. Immediately he sent me an email telling me I was still in the running. I went for a second interview with the training store manager a couple of days later and had a good conversation with him. The HR manager contacted me and told me they were interested that I would need to take a drug test and have a background check. Those were both completed almost immediately and I was then made an offer that matched the company I had been with. I felt good about this at the time as I was being hired as an assistant store manager. At the time everyone seemed very professional and willing to help new people succeed. My advice is to be patient with the process, sometimes they get involved in their own processes and don't convey that information to the candidate.
Negotiation Details – I was able to negotiate a salary that matched my previous company. I would suggest looking at average salaries and starting a bit on the high side.
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at CVS Caremark in July 2008.
Interview Details – I had only one interview and I had to be very detailed about the kind of person I am. THe person needs to be organized and have excellent communication skills.
Negotiation Details – I depends on your experience and education level in order to negotiate
