I met with both the pharmacy manager and the staff pharmacist on two separate days. they as me what skills did I already possess that could help me be a good fit for this job. They also asked me if I would be okay working in a high stress environment that was constantly high pace. They needed to know if I would crack under the pressure. Last but not least they needed to know would I come to work ontime because minutes are precious in the pharmacy.

Pretty relaxed 1:1 interview. The person who interviewed me was the pharmacy manager. I was asked interesting questions as well as the basics.

After applying online and submitting my application to 5 local CVS locations, the store manager at one of them called me and set up the 1:1 interview. The 1:1 interview was a bit long and tedious, and many of the questions were nebulous but I had to give very specific answers and back up everything with detailed examples. This did not bother me so much. I was then able to meet the head pharmacist and members of the pharmacy crew. Most of the people that I met then have moved on and most of them been replaced. I then had to drive to a local urgent care center and submit to a urine drug test and wait for the results. After that, I watched all the CVS videos from the 90's that told me not to talk to people from unions, etc, and did many pages of training and contract-signing. I was lucky in that other techs were not allowed to participate in interviewing or hiring me, but often the pharmacist will bring a tech he is friends with to the interview to give his personal opinion.

I was horrified when my store manager, who did most of the interviewing, was shocked at my request for a starting salary of $9.00 an hour. He said he would have to contact the district manager to see if $8.50 would be ok. I was desperate at the time and took the offer, but in the nearly 2 years that I have worked there, I have only gotten one raise of 17 cents (6.8% of my starting salary).

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Davenport, FL (took 3 days)
I applied online and did their personality test, which took about 40 minutes. About a week later I happened to walk into the store, to see a sign on the door that read, "Now Hiring: Pharmacy Technician." I asked to speak to a manager and inquired about the position. He brought me to his office and interviewed me right there. The questions were all typical. After the interview I went home and he called me asking me to come in for another interview the next day. When I came back I interviewed with him, as well as another one of the managers of the store. Later that afternoon he offered me a position over the phone.

I was called less than 12 hours later after I applied online. My interview was in person with the store manager. I was asked the usual questions, "Why CVS?" and am I flexible in my hours. I was told I would receive a phone call whether given an offer or not ... which I didn't get.

I interviewed for the pharmacy technician position. I wore a grey suit and arrived 30 minutes early. I was cool, calmed and collected while I waited. There was another candidate there that interviewed before me. When it was my turn, I met the person that's over the pharmacy and the store manager. The first question of course was tell me about yourself. They thought my answer was a little short but I winged it by simple adding more with a little chuckle. The rest of the questions were based of the information on my resume as far as my educational info and work history. I was asked why I didn't go to pharmacy school right after I graduated from college. I also had to do a phone scenario with a customer as if I was filling their prescription. They said I did that perfectly and seemed pretty impressed with my interview as a whole.

cvs only hires people that pass a test and then trains them. My interview was short I wasn't asked any questions at the time and when I was hired on the spot. I was given paperwork to sign and the manager told me I begin working next week. It was easy and simple.
