Project Manager at Campbell Soup

Difficult Interview
Overall Neutral Experience Interviewed and No Offer

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Camden, NJ (took a day)

The communication from the recruiting manager and the overall process is extremely professional. I was provide detailed instructions,. company and job profiles, interview schedule with names and positions for each interviewer.

The interviews consisted of five interviews scheduled back-to-back, without time for breaks. The position I was applying for was a full-time position, yet I was interviewed by employees and consultants. All interviewers were provided a list of questions that they were required to ask, which left for little time for any other questions. Some interviewers were well prepared for the interviews, while others needed time to discover who I was and why I what position I was applying for (and knew little about the posting).

After the interview, I was contacted by the recruiting manager who informed me that the position was no longer open. Yet, her explanation (clearly communicated from the hiring manager) did not reflect my interview.

In summary, the process was extremely professional and well managed. However, the people who performed the interview were far less so.

Interview Questions

Questions were straight -forward and designed to determine experience level. The difficulty was the repetitiveness of the questions which resembled a psychological profile test more than an interview.

Other Details

I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
