Interviewed Jan 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Was invited for phone interview after applying online. Interviewer very negative and monotonous - showed no effort to connect with the interviewee. Once you pass the telephone interview, you move straight to the assessment centre, understandably they make the telephone interview a bit difficult as a result. Telephone interview lasted 50 minutes.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 months)
After completing their tedious application form I waited for more than 3 months for any response. At the end I was invited for phone screening with analist/consultant. The interview was particularly unpleasant and demotivating. The questions included: What do you know about Capgemini - revenue, number of employees? Describe the division structure of the company? Why do you want to work for us? What are our competitors? - pretty standard but a lot of enthusiasm seems to be required when answering. Then there were a couple of competency questions - describe a time ... type. They would probably further ask you what the current trends on the IT market are, and how you keep up with the IT world. Nothing too difficult. In my case the interviewer was just writing down my answers most of the time and there was no attempt from his side to maintain a conversation.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4+ weeks)
After applying online for for the graduate scheme in early November I was asked to complete online SHL assessments 2 weeks later. Completing this I was contacted a further 2 weeks later by email to confirm I would be contacted for a telephone interview to be arranged in the next few days. Waiting another week I contacted their recruitment services to chase this up and was simply told they were really busy, though following this I was contacted and had the telephone interview lined up (and then another interviewer called me several times to set up another accidentally?).
Having set an interview date for mid-December I planned for the interview and then went ahead with what was an odd an slightly uncomfortable process - with the interviewer clearly reading out scripted questions for each section (4 main questions to assess knowledge of company, key skills, motivation etc) and long pauses when he typed up all of my answers.
The most bizarre question was after being informed at the end of the call that assessment centre's happen at any time before September and being asked if I was busy at any time before then. Maybe it's just me but to be asked whether there are any dates I'm unavailable over the next 10 months was a little peculiar...

Interviewed Dec 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 8 weeks)
Write out an application form, answering questions about your extra curricular activities, positions of responsibility, teamwork, personal achievement, why Capgemini and why management consulting. This was followed within a week by an invitation to taking an online verbal reasoning test by SHL. After taking the test and passing, I was asked to a telephone interview, which occurred around 2-3 weeks later.
The 1:1 phone interview lasts about 40 minutes and focused on about 5/6 questions which include:
Do you know about the travel requirements of consults?
Tell me about Capgemini
Name a time you worked on a team with working habits different to yours, and how did you deal with them?
Describe a time when you communicated with different audiences
Can you tell me of a time when you had a new idea and developed this idea? How did you develop it and how did you implement it?
I was notified a week later that I had passed the interview, and was invited to an AC 3-4 weeks later.
A week before the AC they send you some information for a case study which you will have to present to a partner in 20 minutes.
The actual AC lasts around half a day, involves meeting Capgemini grads, a 30 minute group exercise (15 minute prep time to read over a lot of information). Then an interview with a partner (including the preprepared presentation and an on the spot case study), then finally a verbal reasoning test similar to the one you took in the first place (except with 2 extra questions for added difficulty/time constraint).

Interviewed Mar 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 6 weeks)
I was told the interview process I had was not the norm. But I was interviewed by two individuals one from the technical side and the other from a project management side. The impression I was given was that Cap was a usual consultancy company. The interview was friendly and almost casual and focused on seeing if I would fit in the company.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
I was offered another job at a smaller consultancy company, the offer from Cap basically came in too late and they were not offering as much money as the other consultancy.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Skills Test.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 months)
Interviewed by telephone. Very pleasant experience. Consisted of general consultancy questions to ascertain my experience and the things I value and prioritise when consulting. Scenario question based upon scoping a piece of work for a potential client. Very subjective question which determines more about your current company's practices and the experience you have in the selling process. Given result of interview very quickly and invited to attend assessment centre.
