Interviewed May 2012 in New York, NY (took 1+ week)
I submitted my resume on our University job Postings and received a call for a telephonic interview after 2 weeks. Telephonic interview was for about 30 to 40 minutes. He asked me about myself, my past experience and some Database questions (about Indexes). Then within a week I was called onsite for 1:1 interviews. There where 3, 1 hour technical interviews. They told me to design some databases on white board and write some queries. All the 3 interviews went well. I got a call from HR next day morning, that I was offered the position.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Manila, City of Manila (Philippines) (took 2 days)
My first interview was with the human resources manager who asked me about my educational background, working experience, reasons for applying for them and reasons why I think I am a good fit for the company. The human resources manager was very eager to endorse me to my team's manager and asked me to complete the exam within the same day. The exam consisted of two parts. The first part was a written exam testing our comprehension of articles on finance written in Chinese. The second part was a spoken exam with one of the team members. The exam focused on spoken Chinese skills. The last interview was with a panel - the team manager and the training coordinator. They were very friendly and accommodating, but the question that threw me off was "you're already very accomplished, why do you want to work for us at the entry level?" I was puzzled by the question because it seemed to imply that they were not a good company to work for.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in New York, NY (took a day)
There was an initial paper exam consisting of five question which were not particularly hard.
They included
i. write a function that gets the number of set bits in a character
ii. Reverse a linkedlist
iii. Find the least common ancestor in a tree
These questions are used as a conversation starter for the actual interview.
It is important that you get them right but I doubt if they are of any great consequence

Interviewed Mar 2012 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4+ weeks)
After applying by email, I received an invitation for a phone interview in the following week which was mainly based on my knowledge of the role I applied for, interests in the company and some CV details.
The following and final step was set in Canary Wharf for a series of four interviews and a Knowledge test (with the purpose of checking your financial knowledge and written skills).
The interviewers (members of the Client services team) were extremely kind and quite informal (except for one of them). Questions were focused on my motivation for the role and "Why Capital IQ?", few simple questions on financial world and my academic background.
One interviewer asked me about my personal interests and a general question on scheduling priorities in Customer Care Service.
The Knowledge test (1 h.) was composed of 4 questions:
1) 300 words: Why you? Why this role?; 2) Business Article: do a summary (200 words); 3) Business Article: briefly answer to 6 very EASY questions; 4) 6-7 Multiple choice questions: mainly on Accounting voices of balance sheet + 1 easy numerical question (no calculator).
The impression of the team was amazing: kind, friendly and business-focused people who wants to build up relationships in the division, besides ordinary work duties.
I'm pretty disappointed by rejection, I did my best but I respect their choice.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
The first interview consisted of a skills test (mainly dealing with interface design) and then a 1:1 interview going over performance on skills test and testing general logic/thinking skills.
Final Round consisted of a Super Day in the city with 3 1:1 interviews with different team members. Essentially they threw current problems at you and watched you work through them on a white board while explaining.
Overall a terrible experience, I was notified later that they had already filled all of the position openings and had over interviewed applicants. They were long between communications and unresponsive. Took them 4 months to repay my travel expenses. However, the company has a start up quality inside of a giant, so that's nice.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 days)
Initally it was a one on one interview at my school with an associate. Then I got a call back to have an interview in New York with several different associates. The culture was very relaxed. Everyone was dressed in business casual and some people were even in jeans. Some of the interviewers were very nice and easy to talk to while some asked more technical questions. There was a general run through of the resume. One interviewer asked me to teach him a subject.
