Interviewed Nov 2011 (took a day)
Capital One recruited at my school, which consisted of of 3 rounds (or 2 rounds depending on your view):
1st round: 45-minute one-on-one interview with a senior employee, which is divided into 20-30 minute case interview, and the rest behavioral interview. My interviewer just chatted with me for the behavioral part, mostly because I had a ton of questions and she was happy to answer them. If you pass this, they invite you to the next step.
2nd round: a series of online assessment. One behavioral and one analytical assessment. I did not pass this although I am pretty curious as to what part I did not pass. I thought the assessment was pretty standard and straightforward. If you pass this though, then they invite you to a "power day" interview at the nearby hotel where the recruiting team was staying.
3rd round: I am told by friends who made it that it's a series of back-to-back interviews, 1 behavioral and 2 cases. My 1st round interviewer told me that the cases will be more complicated and longer than the 1st round case.
Capital One had a very aggressive recruiting season at my school this year in the fall. Their CEO, Rich Fairbanks, came to give a talk prior to the application deadline; they held one formal info session in addition to the career fair; and their recruiting team members participated in many other resume/interview/info workshops organized by our career center. They also had a reception dinner for candidates invited to 1st round interview. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience with pursuing Capital One's offer for an analyst position. I'll probably try again in 6 months before graduation. It seems like a great place to work and launch your career in business development and/or finance.

Interviewed May 2010 in Dallas, TX (took 2 weeks)
Applied online and got contacted by a recruiter. Did some online testing (verbal / numerical) then got flown out for an onsite interview. Interview was difficult but not impossible. The day is broken up into 2 cases 1 behavioral and a recheck of your online testing. They then take you around their campus and you talk to people that work there.
Don't worry about the behavioral interview, its just STAR method and I'm pretty sure its designed to just calm you down in between the case interviews. The cases vary but I got one about direct mail vs phone calling to contact new customers for a capital one credit card. The interviewer was a bit tricky and made me second guess stuff, but its not hard to handle. The last question on that case was how to decide between direct mail and phone calling when there's a limited budget and audience. You have to write an equation that links the 2 variables and then explain it to him.
The other case was about dominos pizza and how they're considering changing from a free pizza if delivered late model to a discounted pizza if delivered late model. Really straight forward, don't over think this one and you should be fine. You have to calculate how much % demand and supply changes to make the 2 systems equal.
Overall the company seems great, and offers a lot of benefits. The interview process are hard, but I was told by a VP there that if you don't get it, you can just apply again in a few months and you go thru the process all over again.

Interviewed May 2010 in Richmond, VA (took a day)
Thus far I have taken a couple of online assesments. The first one was the standard behavioral assesment, and the next was a math skills test. I passed both, and was then offered an in person interview. From what I hear the interview process is pretty rigorous and you have to know your stuff.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Plano, TX (took a day)
When submitting an application, you complete a verbal and math assessment online. Should you do well on that, they might extend an offer for an interview. My interview was one day out in Plano. It consisted of 2 case interviews, a behavioral interview, and they have you complete another math assessment to ensure someone else didn't take it for you. I wouldn't say the interviews were that difficult, but from what I understand the positions are fairly competitive so there is little margin for error.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took a day)
Three individual interviews that consisted of a behavioral interview and two case interviews. Each interview is about 45 minutes with each person and the case interviews are fairly difficult. The company accepts generally 2-5% of all their applicants that are given offers. Study your material and know details about the company, because this is one difficult interview process.
