Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
I applied through my university career center website to get the interview. It was a resume drop, and I had heard good things about Capital One, so I figured it would be worth a shot.
I received an email from the recruiter a few days later, and he invited me to a social event at a local pub/restaurant to meet with some current employees. They all turned out to be recent grads, and they were easy to get along with. From speaking with them, it seemed like this would be a great place to work. They all spoke highly of the good pay, relaxed office environment, and flexible hours.
I chose the date and time for the interview online, and it took place at the career center on campus. It turned out to be an easy, straightforward case study. The interviewer set up the case, asked me to crunch some numbers, and posed some simple conceptual questions. All you needed was some basic math skills and some common sense. Unfortunately for me, I was nervous and blew the case.
To potential interviewees, I would check out the cases on Capital One's website. That was pretty close to the case study I got. You might want to brush up on basic algebra (if you need). I was given a pencil, paper, and a calculator, so don't worry about mental math.

Overall it was pretty easy going. The interviewer walks you through the process and the math is really straight forward. I would just be sure to take your time and not rush yourself.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 1 week)
I applied to the position through campus recruiters. They were nice but I didn't pursue the position further. They asked about my courses, career goals, and offered me a possibility to work either in Virginia or Texas. The recruiter was very nice but I didn't pursue the job though. The entire process was very smooth.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 days)
Pre-interview dinner, then on-campus interview, followed by a superday that consisted of 4 interviewers, 3 behavioral 1 case that was accounting based. The behavioral was typical and everyone was very nice. I was not expecting to have accounting for the case study since my background is in Econ, but what can you do.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 weeks)
Asked me to desribe my current job and explain to in plain language. Also asked me some technical questions such as how to intepret the colinearity and p-value. Didn't respond very well since I spent most time other possible questions and haven't touch those regression topics for a while. The last question is about a business case question on how to allocate limited resourse to a target objective.
Before this phone interview, I did the online test as many have already mentioned.
The HR responded to me very fast about the results. I really appreciate it since I can focus on other tasks.

There were two interviews and a dinner. The first interview consisted of a one on one and a business case (2 current analysts evaluated). Then came a dinner with employees of the firm. The next day was the second interview with the same format as the first except that there was also an aptitude test as well.

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took 5 weeks)
It started with an IQ/Skills test that you took online. Then you wait like 2 weeks. After that they held on campus interviews which was a one on one "case interview". If you passed that (which I did), you moved on to "on site" case interviews. Capital one will fly you out to the office of your choice and you have an entire day of interviews made up of 2 more case interviews and a personality interview. Then if you pass that round you're offered a position.
