Interviewed May 2012 in Plano, TX (took a day)
Called by a recruiter who did a phone interview. Asked me what I knew about Capital One. A time I had dealt with an irate customer. Why I left my last job. She scheduled me for a 1:1 interview. First you have a behavioral question interview. My 3 questions were: Describe a time you provided excellent customer service; Describe a time you dealt with a demanding customer; and, Describe a time a customer made a suggestion that caused you to implement something (can't remember exact wording).

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Plano, TX (took 2 weeks)
first round-campus interview, they had a workshop about case interview the day before, very helpful
second round-online test, which include personality, math and reading skills
HR person is very helpful, email back quickly and provide several interview tips include a book "case in point"
third round-2 case interview and 1 behavior interview, they pay the hotel and airline ticket. hold a reception in the hotel the night before interview, just send several yound employees came to chat and answer your questions. on the interview day, my behavior interviewer arrived late so we only talked about 20 minutes. then my 1st case interviewer was very nice but I screwed up cause forgot an important factor, 2nd case interviewer was an indian with bad accent, face to the door not me (seems he wanted to escape or something), and he was playing his cellphone all the time. We took a break and had lunch with them, didn't have a campus tour cause the bad weather. Overall is good, got experience even though without offer.

I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test and a Personality Test.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Plano, TX (took 4+ weeks)
Took the verbal and Numeric tests online. It was timed tests and not that difficult. There was job fit interview and after 2 weeks, was flown to Plano, TX. There were 2 case interviews and 1 behavioural interview for lead position. The case interviews were related to Break Even, and Profitability of a Process in the company. Break even case was good, Profitability case - cracked in 15 mins.... The interview process seemed as if it is a stereotype process and little bit tiresome for out of city candidates. It didn't seem as a tailored for someone who is 10-15 yrs of Industry experience and fit to do the job. They seem to have a standard set of process. Was not asked for any questions related to the position applied.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Plano, TX (took 2 weeks)
After passing "mini-GMAT" skills test, was flown out to Plano to interview. Behavioral interview was easy, but case interviews were more difficult. Was a little nervous under pressure and could not come up with all of the equations that they wanted. Was not offered a position.
Seems like a great company to work for. Great hours, relaxed environment (analyst can come to work in jeans!). Also seems like a professional environment with good training and development.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Plano, TX (took 2 months)
Applied online, took an online IQ/EQ test and passed, then had a phone "mini" case interview. Did well on that, so got invited to an interview day at the Plano campus. This consisted of a behavioral interview and 2 case interviews. Did very well on one of the cases, but not so well on the second case. Everyone was very nice and not pressuring. Found out 1 business day later that I did not make the cut. Seems like a really great company to work for.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Plano, TX (took 6 days)
Applied online, answered assessment test sent via email, had phone interview after a couple of days and scheduled for face-to-face interview in 3 days. When I came in for an interview I checked in with the front desk and waited for about 5-10 mins for the interviewer. Interview was consist of Behavioral Interview with the Manager and skills test with the HR. The behavioral interview went just fine, everything was based on the event that happened in my previous jobs, they were testing to see how you deal with the particular situation. You don't only have to answer in one or two sentences, because there's always a follow up question in each and every detail of your answers. The whole process took an hour. Everything went well however there's a little bit of toughness in the behavioral interview. You just have to be yourself and answer with confidence. Don't let the tough questions stress you. The manager was great and I definitely felt comfortable on my interview. Don't forget to ASK QUESTIONS...

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Plano, TX (took 2 days)
This was the most rigorous screening process that I have been involved with. The investment that Capital One makes in their candidate selection is impressive. The campus was very nice. The employees that I met were all very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. They have a nice cafe' onsite, as well as a workout facility.

Interviewed May 2010 in Plano, TX (took 4 weeks)
Applied on their website and got an email from a recruiter within 2-3 days to do online assessments. the first assessment was a personality test to see if you will fit with the culture. The second consisted of a verbal and a math test.
After passing these, they arranged for me to do a phone interview with a manager in the group I was applying to. That went well and I was invited to a round of in-person interviews.
The in-person interviews consisted of 1 Behavioral and 2 Case interviews along with another assessment test.
It has been 2 months to my interviews and no response yet. I can understand if they are not interested in hiring me but after so many interviews they at least owe me a courtesy email/call to let me know that I have been rejected.
I have interviewed with many prestigious and large firms but nobody else has been this dis-courteous.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Plano, TX (took 2 weeks)
Capital One's recruiting process consists of case and behavioral interviews, personality testing, and skills testing. The process was extensive (final round interviews consisted of 4 hours of interviews and testing back to back), but also quite fair. Critical thinking and problem solving skills were valued over actual business knowledge, in fact, the company seemed to prefer my technical background in physics over a degree in business management or finance. Everyone I met was intelligent and personable and the company culture was surprisingly laid back, progressive, and open. I left my final interview thoroughly impressed by the company's rigorous interview process and friendly, modern atmosphere.
