Interviewed Dec 2011 in Plano, TX (took 3 weeks)
I was told that I did well and I passed all of the interview stages but that I lacked experience and I would be put forward for an associate level. However, I never heard from them again after that comment.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Plano, TX (took 3 weeks)
Had an on campus case interview that was half an hour and pretty straightforward. Got invited out to Plano for the power day where it was 2 case interviews in the morning and a behavioral interview. The case interviews were pretty straightforward and much easier than the consulting cases I had done. I got through the cases fine, but forgot to divide a number by 12 to get to a monthly rather than annual number and that may have been my downfall. Plano is not very appealing, but the people are generally nice.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Plano, TX (took 2 weeks)
Easy case interview on campus.
After passing initial case interview, had to take an online verbal/quantitative assessment and a personality assessment. Apparently most people pass these too.
After passing the assessments, was invited to their HQ. They flew us in and had us stay in a hotel right next to their HQ, met with current analysts the previous night. On interview day, they set up a room per applicant and interviewers would come to you. 2 case interviews and 1 behavioral, with the case interviews being much more difficult than the initial. Some applicants were asked to stay for an additional interview after lunch. I was not, and got a call two days later saying that I was not getting an offer. They told me I simply didn't do well enough on the cases.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Plano, TX (took 4 weeks)
After being contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen and passing the skills tests, I had two additional phone interviews with training managers. The third step was to conduct a presentation for a group of people. i thought the demo went well and I was told I would be contacted by the recruiter. That was a month ago and I have heard nothing about the position. I did reach out to the recruiter by email and phone to follow up after two weeks and no one returned a call or email. I thought that after three interviews and a demo someone would at least send me an email rejection. I really wanted to work for Capital One as everything I learned about the company during the process indicated that it would be a great place to learn and grow. I guess they did not feel the same way.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Plano, TX (took 3 weeks)
Interview process consists of s phone screen from the recruiting department that will go over the basic questions of who are you, why are you looking, what is you experience. Next if you havent registered and applied online you will have to fill out a profile and submit to the req posted. Once you have submitted they will then send you skills tests and personality tests. The tests are different depending on what job or level you are applying for. Though no matter what position you need to dedicate the required time aside to be quite so you can focus. The test are made to be challenging. Ensure that prior to your test you have everything you need like extra paper, extra writing utensils, calculator, water... You get the point. All of my tests (4 tests) lasted an hour (they are all timed). Once it is completely the recruiter will the what for the third party vendor to report them the scores on if you passed or failed. If you passed it will be in three levels, low, moderate, and high. Depending on what level is required for the role will determine if you move forward. Once you pass the testing you will be presented to the hiring manager for a screen telephone interview. If that goes well they will either fly you out for a full day of interviews. Plan on 6 to 9 in one day consisting of individuals you will be partnering with.. The on site interviews will be a combination of job fit, behavioral, or case. The interview will come into the room with a packet telling them what questions need to be covered. Each interview lasts about 50 mins. They have a recruiting area where everyone comes there to interview so you don't move around a lot. Ensure you interview them as well. Make sure to ask and find out about the role the culture the talent so you will know if that is the environment for you. Once those interviews are completed you fly home. Then all the interviewers come together to meet to discuss their interviews with you and what next steps will be. Then they fly you back for another round usually to give you an offer. At this point it has been a long process and you should have a great idea about the company and the individuals you will be working with, expectations, overall culture and if this is the right fit. Good luck! Practice your case interview questions!!

Negotiation Details
Vacation is non negotiable. You can negotiate salary but I wouldnt push it for a few thousand dollars. They have a great incentive plan and performance review. So work hard and get a great raise at performance review time. You can negotiate a signing bonus if the money is that critical to your families need. Just be honest upfront with your expectations and they will do their best to offer what they can to meet it.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Plano, TX (took 1 week)
I was referred by my colleague in graduate school and received a notice from HR inviting me to take online test immediately. I had personality test, verbal test and quantitative test all in a 2 hour period. Then I got scheduled a interview with a senior statistician. I heard that usually they ask something from undergraduate statistics and linear regression. I was very busy at the time, just picked up a book from library and read through it. The interview did not go very well. I don't remember exactly what I was asked, but I stumbled at general questions like can you go through how to do approach a business problem (cannot remember the exact problem) from the beginning ? I think it is something like you need to know how and where to collect data, how to find variables, how to choose variables, what estimation methods you need to use, and so on.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Plano, TX (took a day)
Very difficult interview: all day long, 2 case interviews and one behavioral interview ( AFTER taking personality, verbal, and math tests online). I wasn't expecting the lower-level questions (algebraic equations) since I thought I was interviewing for a higher level position. The process as a whole was organized and efficient but over-engineered for the end result. I'd ove to work there but I guess I need to review my high school math books.
