I applied in-person and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at CarMax in November 2011.

Interview Details – The CarMax associate selection process is probably the most extensive and thorough that I have ever experienced. I obtained an interview through a hiring event that was advertised on their website. I had no idea that I would complete a personality test and panel behavioral interview on the spot. Be prepared to spend a few hours if you are attending the hiring event. They will also ask for many pieces of information which they will use to build a profile on you. This includes social security number, work history from previous 10 years and residences from past 7 years. Try to apply for the position for which you are interested on line before going to any hiring event. Otherwise, bring your resume and other documents on a thumb drive to upload to the online application website.
