Interviewed Feb 2011 in Norcross, GA (took 2 days)
The interview process was awesome. They did not just test things I memorized but my intelligence. They asked me to solve 3 puzzle like programming questions. There were like 7 people in each of 3 sessions I was involved in. It seemed a bit much at first but later made me assure they indeed value who they select.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
I found the job posting online and was later contacted by email for a phone interview. The person on the phone was the director and asked me about my qualifications for the position, my depth of knowledge of social/market research methodologies, survey experience, and statistical experience. Then I was invited for an in-person interview with the Senior Director and she asked only a hand full of questions. She asked what I am not good at and want to improve and then answered my questions.
I received an offer a week later, signed a contract and started working right after they checked my education.
Overall it was a nice experience. I emailed the Director back and forth and he answered my questions quickly and thoroughly.

Negotiation Details
I did not negotiate my starting salary. I would advice others to negotiate firmly if there are other prospective job offers because CareerBuilder pays well below market. I was not offered a market rate for a consultant and the company in general pays very low to anyone not in sales.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took a day)
Interviewed with 4 or 5 managers. They liked what I had to say and I got a job on the spot. The idea is to be all about the position you're interviewing for and you'll be fine.
The culture seemed a little frat boyish. But that's okay if you know how to hold your own in a socially competitive environment.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4+ weeks)
First, I submitted my resume online. Next, I had a pleasant phone interview with the hiring manager who invited me in. I met with her and two potential direct reports and believed we had a great rapport. The culture seemed driven, highly-focused on measurement, but with a “work hard, play hard” mentality.
I was invited for a final interview, but had to complete a 5-part assignment with quantitative analysis, two writing assignments, etc. the Thursday evening before a holiday weekend. I spent most of the holiday working on the assignment, which seemed to require in-depth knowledge of the company. I did extensive research and even signed up for their services to try to gather knowledge, but still needed to make some assumptions.
During the final interview, I met with a potential peer (who seemed very impressed with my samples), three potential direct reports (two from the first meeting and a direct hire, relatively young team), another senior manager (who seemed so comfortable with me that we were talking about professors and common classmates by the end of the interview, given that we received our MBA from the same college, and a final discussion with the hiring manager where I presented the highlights from my assignment. Overall the process was great until I received a canned rejection letter. I couldn’t believe that I didn’t warrant a more personal letter after spending at least 22 hours of my life across multiple days. Even more insulting was the fact that I saw the position posted for weeks following the end of the process. I've been turned down for positions a few times in the past, but never in such an unprofessional way--especially so far into the process.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Norcross, GA (took a day)
I was invited to attend a mixer to network with CareerBuilder staff managers, employees and potential employees. The atmosphere was very casual. From that process I met employees who referred me to the Hiring Manager at Personified (subsidiary of CareerBuilder). He referred my resume to a Recruiter who phoned me for the interview.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
For my interview I first had about a 10 minute phone interview and then was asked to come in and meet with one of the hiring managers. During the first interview I met with one manager and also was asked to take a personality test. A few days later I was called in to meet with another manager and the VP of sales. I'd say about 2 days after that i was called with my offer.

Interviewed Jun 2010 (took a day)
I received a phone call to discuss the opportunity and setup and interview time. I went in for the interview and talked with a manager 1 on 1. I then talked with the group that I would be working with to make sure it was a cultural fit. I suggest being open and friendly. Talk with all the individuals and make sure there is a culture fit or you will likely be unhappy. I thought the office was a great environment and felt comfortable in my interview.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 1+ week)
A Careerbuilder recruiter called me two days after I submitted my application. She was very kind and asked if I was able to schedule a phone interview the following day. After the phone interview she invited me to come in for a face-to-face interview with a hiring manager who she thought would be a great match for me.
The interview went very well and I was equipped with candid and detailed information that helped me decide if Careerbuilder would be a good fit for me. I walked out of the interview knowing that this is what I wanted and accepted the offer a week later.

Interviewed Jul 2010 (took 1 week)
They required a first and a second interview. The first was one on one with the supervisor. He instantly put me at ease and asked basic questions, no behavioral interview questions. The second interview was with the supervisor and his sales team. I thought their interview process was appropriate and pretty standard.

Reason for Declining
Everyone seems intelligent and rather nice, but I got this sense that they were slick, used car salesmen types. Somewhat stressed to meet their quota. No one seemed like they really had a heart or cared about people. They just wanted money.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Norcross, GA (took 2 weeks)
A hiring consultant did a phone screening, which was difficult to judge if I did well on. A week later I came in for a formal interview by two different team leads. I had a couple simple whiteboard programming questions (greatest sum, and string reversal) and one more difficult one (multi threading and load splitting) which I didnt know the complete answer to. I was then invited to come back by one of the team leads to interview with the members of the team. They were very nice and asked basic personality questions. I was impressed with how smart they were and their dress attire, which was basically jeans, a tshirt, and flipflops on one. After that interview i was called back and asked when i wanted to start.
