Interview Details –
I had to go through three interviews. You will meet HR, then your manager, and the Direct and the VP of the department. You will be tested for Excel skills even though we found out later that the test given was biased as we, power users, did not go over 75% of correct answers as it was possible to answer to commands only through the menu' and not the shortcuts or buttons.
They will ask for paystubs from prior employer and tax returns to check on prior pay. Be ready, don't lie.

Interview Details – All resumes are prescreened by HR and then go through a series of interviews both internally and then with the hiring Director. Carnival tends to promote from within the company so most positions are recruited from within but exceptional candidates will always be considered especially if recommended by a current employee. Overall, interviews are normally an hour and focus on specific sales experience, number of years in either the specific territory or relevant experience. Most important characteristics are formal sales training, excellent communications skills for both agent training and consumer presentations as well as understanding of local advertising, competition in the market and overall cultural fit within the organization.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Pittsburgh, PA Jan 2009 – Reviewed Jan 6, 2013
Interview Details – The interview was held at a video conferencing center at what was then a Kinkos. I specifically asked them if I got time off when we visited ports. They said I usually would, but occasionally might have to tape a tour. They flat-out lied. Once I started working for them, I found out I NEVER got time off in port other than 8 hours in Tampa. Every port we visited required me to tape a tour, which was usually one of two tours. ANy company that lies to an prospective employee to trick them into taking a job they will hate is a shady company to work for.
Negotiation Details – No negotiation.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Miami, FL Feb 2008 – Reviewed Nov 20, 2012
Interview Details – Applied directly, job posted on careerbuilder, HR recruiter from Carnival called me for an interview, after a 15 minutes interview, basically about my previous work experience, she decided I was qualified to meet the hiring manager. She called her immediately, manager was not at her desk, so I gave the HR person my cell phone number and said she could reach anytime for the next interview. After leaving the building I got the call within 15 minutes and headed back for an interview with the hiring manager. After a 20 minute interview with the hiring manager, and just expressing my experience on the job, she asked me How much I wanted to make? I gave her a number and she said why, I replied because it was the average salry on the market, but I also told her I was willing to negotiate and basically hear an offer, she said, she wouldn't low ball me, and asked me one more question, whether I had other interviews lined up, to which I replied Yes indeed. So she handed me her business card and said I would hear from her soon. Surely did I got a call next morning form the HR person offering me the job.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Miami, FL Jun 2010 – Reviewed May 18, 2012
Interview Details – I answered an advertisement in the newspaper for a hiring fair. I arrived along with a gazillion other people with resume in hand, varying levels of business professional dress code. Was given a quick interview by one of the managers on the call center floor, was asked why this was a good fit for me and give one instance when such and such happened and how did I deal/overcome. Then had an interview with the department head who reviewed resume and asked questions pertaining to previous employment. I was given job offer. Neither of those persons are still employed there as the company did MAJOR "changes" eg. fired a lot of people for whatever reason. Nice place to work but once you are on the phones, it is difficult to move to a different position especially if you take advantage of your vacation time, it counts against you.

No Offer – Interviewed in Doral, FL Nov 2011 – Reviewed Mar 20, 2012
Interview Details – I had to wait almost 2.5 months after I submitted my resume online to hear back from Carnival Cruise Lines. When a recruiter finally called, it was clear to me that she felt overwhelmed, but she was nice and after asking me some basic questions, she asked if I could attend a final interview at the company's headquarters the following week. On the day of the final interview, I was instructed to go to the HR department where a very tedious Excel test was administered. Then, I was taken to a conference room where I had four 30-45 minute interviews on a 1:1 basis with three different revenue managers and one senior analyst. None of the questions that were asked were difficult at all, but some of the managers were rather rude and would cut me short without letting me finish my answers. Overall, my perception of Carnival Cruise Lines changed after I was interviewed at the company's headquarters, as I was expecting Carnival to be a fun, yet highly professional corporation. However, most of the people I encountered did not seem to engage in hard work, did not hesitate to gossip about their colleagues in front of others, and had a very negative attitude that resembled that of an underachiever. I was happy that I did not get this job.

No Offer – Interviewed in Doral, FL Aug 2011 – Reviewed Sep 6, 2011
Interview Details – After submitting my resume and applying through the carnival website, I received an e-mail asking for my availability for a 30 minute phone screen. The phone screen had to be put off for one day as the recruiting manager had a meeting. The next day, we spoke over the phone. The position required more technical skills than I had, so the phone screen was cut short as the recruiting manager proceeded to interview more capable potential employees.
Interview Question – Are you proficient enough in Excel to create macros and use VLOOKUP logic? Answer Question
