Interviewed Jun 2010 in Miami, FL (took a day)
I answered an advertisement in the newspaper for a hiring fair. I arrived along with a gazillion other people with resume in hand, varying levels of business professional dress code. Was given a quick interview by one of the managers on the call center floor, was asked why this was a good fit for me and give one instance when such and such happened and how did I deal/overcome. Then had an interview with the department head who reviewed resume and asked questions pertaining to previous employment. I was given job offer. Neither of those persons are still employed there as the company did MAJOR "changes" eg. fired a lot of people for whatever reason. Nice place to work but once you are on the phones, it is difficult to move to a different position especially if you take advantage of your vacation time, it counts against you.

Be positive and come in with a smile. Make a personal connection with your interviewer and be prepared to discuss if you're a leader and why. Also take note of why you're interested in industry and how you initially became interested. Discuss your passion for service and and exceeding people's expectations. Do background research on current happenings online via the press releases,as you would for any other interview. Make the interview conversationally and not rigid...you set the tone. And most importantly, be yourself!

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Doral, FL (took 3 months)
I had to wait almost 2.5 months after I submitted my resume online to hear back from Carnival Cruise Lines. When a recruiter finally called, it was clear to me that she felt overwhelmed, but she was nice and after asking me some basic questions, she asked if I could attend a final interview at the company's headquarters the following week. On the day of the final interview, I was instructed to go to the HR department where a very tedious Excel test was administered. Then, I was taken to a conference room where I had four 30-45 minute interviews on a 1:1 basis with three different revenue managers and one senior analyst. None of the questions that were asked were difficult at all, but some of the managers were rather rude and would cut me short without letting me finish my answers. Overall, my perception of Carnival Cruise Lines changed after I was interviewed at the company's headquarters, as I was expecting Carnival to be a fun, yet highly professional corporation. However, most of the people I encountered did not seem to engage in hard work, did not hesitate to gossip about their colleagues in front of others, and had a very negative attitude that resembled that of an underachiever. I was happy that I did not get this job.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Doral, FL (took a day)
After submitting my resume and applying through the carnival website, I received an e-mail asking for my availability for a 30 minute phone screen. The phone screen had to be put off for one day as the recruiting manager had a meeting. The next day, we spoke over the phone. The position required more technical skills than I had, so the phone screen was cut short as the recruiting manager proceeded to interview more capable potential employees.

The recruiter was friendly, but had me waiting by the phone for the interview several times. She rescheduled the call twice while I was sitting by the phone waiting for the call, and it ended up being a whole day later than scheduled. The interview was short and simple. Basic Questions.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Miramar, FL (took 1 week)
Submitted my resume through a friend who was working there and received a phone call to schedule an interview about a week later. When I came in the interview lasted about 45 minutes, where I was asked to talk about myself, and how I would handle certain situations like how I would make a suggestion to someone unsure of what decision to make.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Miami, FL (took 2 weeks)
I applied to this position through my school's career website. Then I was contacted to setup a phone interview.
I was asked a few basic questions:
why are you interested in this company? what are some of your weaknesses? can you explain a couple things on your resume?
Then I was asked a few scenario questions:
how would you go about raising profits from soda sales on a ship? if we were looking to renew a contract with coke what research would you take into account?
I thought the interviewer was friendly and was genuinely interested in what I had to say. I built a rapport with him through our interview and we had a little conversation about some topics. I got to ask him questions about some company procedures as well and the interviewer elaborated on his answers with stories, which was nice.
The next step in the process was an onsite interview. However, I was not contacted after my phone interview about the next step.

Interviewed Aug 2009 in Miami, FL (took 4+ weeks)
Referred by a friend and got phone number to set up an audition. Called the musical entertainment manager's secretary to schedule the audition one week out. Then was sent audition material through email. Hiring manager called and auditioned me on the music that was sent and a couple of prepared pieces. He said i passed the audition and asked when I could start. After a full description of the job, he said I would need to follow up with all the medical documentation before I could be hired. Medical included: full physical exam, MMR vaccination records, and any other medical conditions needed to evaluate my health. After all the medical stuff had been sent in, I was called and given a start date. Flight info is mailed and paid for by the company.
