I had a 45 minute phone interview. It was a detailed interview with different case senarios and how I would handle them. It was an uncomfortable interview as the Director would ask the same questions a few times.

I was applying for a different postion at the company that I was employed at a time. The interview was a telephone interview with individuals that I already knew. It was very informal. I was not comfortable with how it was handled.

Fairly simple and easy process. HR is completely worthless at this company. Absolutely no help other than to answer their own questions. Finally had to send emails copying department manager and CFO to get response of simple questions that other co-workers had answered by the time I heard back from HR

I was contacted by a recruiter for several different positions. I chose to submit for this one at the highest end of the salary range. I had a phone interview the next week that consisted of the hiring manager describing the position and a couple of informal experience questions. The next week, I was brought in for an in-person interview with a couple of the position's co-workers. They asked typical interview questions for about half an hour and then the hiring manager and I talked about the position in detail.

I was very impressed with the actually hiring manager. He asked very good questions and we had a good exchange of information. I later was interviewed by the group leader - she also asked good questions. I was then referred on to the final interview. At some point along the way, someone at CHW contacted someone I only knew casually and for a short time. That person provided incorrect information. This informal and unauthorized back ground check surprised me considering that CHW is a faith-based organization. The proper thing would have been to allow me to challenge this other person's incorrect information. But, such is life. I would have been a very valuable team member. I was never able to get closure from the organization. Just be careful when you deal with these folks.

The interview occured after I had already been working for the company through a temp agency. So, the interview process for me was not as formal as it may have been for some one applying as a direct hire. Typically, there are three people who interview you and in the department I worked for (Managed Care), they may even have some of the current employee ask you a question or two. Just be prepared with. They want you to be able to clearly explain industry terms such as HMO, PPO, DOFER etc.
