Interviewed Mar 2012 (took a day)
I was called and asked to come in the same day for an interview. I went and met the manager and went in the back. She asked me several questions off of cards. They consisted mainly of how I would handle certain situations like shoplifters, and keeping the money in the store by not doing refunds on returns but instead doing exchanges.

Interviewed May 2010 in Escondido, CA (took a day)
I applied in person, filling out an application and turning it in to the manager. I was looking for a summer job while I was in school. I got the interview about a week later. I was interviewed by the store manager with one other applicant (small group interview). The questions were fairly basic, like "What would you do if a customer had a complaint?" or "Why do you want to work here?"
The one question that stood out to me was the question of "Sell me the outfit you're wearing." I wore a business-casual outfit of plain dark jeans, plain black heels and a nice black shirt. I told the manager, well this outfit can go from work out to dinner with your friends--all you need to do is add some fun jewelry (this is a good thing to say, because CR loves to sell its accessories). The other interviewee, however, was wearing a jean mini-skirt and a t-shirt, so she didn't seem dressed appropriately for the interview. I got the job, but she didn't.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Locust Grove, GA (took 1 week)
They called a group of 10 people in for an interview. The interview began with everyone stating their names and something that no one know about them. Then the manager began asking questions about fashion and current trends, each person was called on by random to answer. After several questions about trends, we were all split into two groups and asked to put together an outfit from the clothing in the store for certain outings (eg. club, first date or casual). They managers watched us as we floated around the room and noted who was putting an effort into the process and who was just following others lead. When we were done, the groups presented their outfits and answered a few questions and were told that we free to go and would be hearing back from them in a few days. The location i was hired for had alot of internal problems with the staff and the managers present at the time were sub-par. The store manager was 45 minutes late to our interview and had a bad attitude towards the perspective workers. Once i began working their i noticed many of the managers hardly did any work and showed alot of favoritism towards some employees and were not fair in the hours most workers got.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 1 week)
I applied in person and waited about a week. I heard nothing from the company so I called them, and they stated that they were sorry they missed calling me first because it was definitely theyre intention to do so. The person located my application while we were on the phone and moments after, offered me to come in for an interview the next day. It was a one on one interview.

Interviewed May 2011 in Indianapolis, IN (took 1 week)
I went in to ask for an application in person. I returned to give it to the manager, and it seemed like she pre-screened me for an interview because she asked me a few questions like why I wanted to work there and what my favorite current fashion trend was before she even offered to schedule an interview. I wasn't really given any other information about what style the interview would be other than when it was, so I was surprised to show up and find that I was interviewing with two other candidates. We were given a scenario and asked to wardrobe an outfit for that scenario with any items from the store--but we only had three minutes to find everything we wanted. It was a normal group interview process after that--we got asked things like why we wanted to work in retail, how we had dealt with stubborn coworkers, when was the last time we had worked in a team, etc. I was never contacted after the interview about whether or not a decision had been made. I found out two days later I had been offered a position as a sales associate at a much more high-end retail store in the same mall with wonderful benefits so I really didn't think twice about it after that. The interview process itself was just so strange--I never got the vibe that the manager interviewing us was excited about hiring new people, and we were never told anything about how many they were looking to hire, potential hours, etc. I've had many other interviews in the retail world and this is definitely the most strange that I've ever experienced.

Interviewed Aug 2009 (took 2 weeks)
Phone Interview with Store Manager, went well and was asked to meet with the hiring manager later that week.
1:1 interview was casual (matched store environment), asked about previous experience, my personal strengths and weaknesses, availability and some situational questions. Conversation went well and interviewer was friendly and helpful.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Miami, FL (took a day)
I went into Charlotte Russe and asked the first woman I saw if they were hiring. She said yes and quickly grabbed an application and handed it to me. Once I was finished filling out the application the hiring manager and the store manager were both standing next to me and began asking me questions. They asked me to "sell my outfit" and why I wanted to work at Charlotte Russe. However, they were rather intimidating as they seemed almost too serious and thus I froze up and couldn't finish the interview confident enough. They said they would call me and let me know.
