Interviewed May 2010 (took 2+ months)
I was one of two finalists for a management level position. Told the offer would be made by the following Friday to whomever was selected. Never received a phone call or letter.
I believe at this position level there should be more professionalism shown by the company by making a personal phone call or at least sending a letter indicating the other person was selected.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 2 weeks)
Completed on line application submission on the Charter website and about 10 days later received a call from the hiring manager to arrange a time for a more lengthy phone interview. That took place 2 days later and I was told the next steps would be in 10 days - 2 weeks for an in person interview. The next day, the hiring manager called and asked me to come in to interview with 5 people the following week. I met the hiring manager and the 4 others and was there for about 3 hours. The questions were typical behavioral interview questions and some repeated, I'm sure to check for consistency. It was a positive experience overall and I felt that it went very well. I was asked for references as I exited, which I thought was a positive sign. None of my references were contacted and 8 days later I received an email letting me know that another candidate had been selected.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Saint Louis, MO (took 1 week)
Was given a phone interview on a Wed. asked in for a 2:1 in person interview on Friday. Offered to make final interview (which was a 15 min presentation and 7 member panel interview) Only 2 people from the training department was on the panel. Found out that I was the only external candidate out of the 4 total. I also found out that only one of the other 3 had any (very little) training background. My background is 5 years of training experience with companies such as IBM, DECA, Cardinal Health.
I was told that they would make the decision quickly and they would call me regardless. It has been 6 days and still have not heard a word. They were very proffesional, but I did not understand why the different managers were on the panel that had nothing to do with training. Would you have a doctor in an interview for a lawyer?

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Thibodaux, LA (took 2 days)
The interviewer would like to know what types of business to business sales you have done before. They were polite and seemed interested in what I had to say. The interview took about an hour and was not hard. They are looking for someone with many different sales experiences.

Interviewed Jul 2009 (took 4 months)
The interview process with Charter Communications is extremely long and drawn out. It took me three months to get to the final interview stage where I was up against about 6 other applicants, for this final stage of the interview I was asked to present a powerpoint presentation via webcast to a panel group of 4-6 managers and current sales trainers. My advice would be to lead your presentation very geared to increasing sales for a department and put specific numbers, charts, bar graphs all would work to your benefit. Also feel free to check in on your own to see where you stood with the interview, it takes quite a while to receive feedback if you aren't selected and rather than waste your time wondering I would email or call. Best of luck!

Interviewed Sep 2007 in Decatur, AL (took 2 days)
The interview was detailed and conducted by a very inexperienced sales manager (who is no longer a sales manager.) She then approved me and I had a second interview with the General Manager who was much more experienced and knowledgable. I had to provide detailed phone numbers and addresses of former employers along with a sheet that they had to fill out and return.
