Met with the Store Manager who reviewed my application and schedule of availability to work during holiday season starting busy Thanksgiving week and through Christmas. She indicated that if I was hired and did a good job, there was possibility of staying on to work after holiday season on as needed, part-time basis. Because I am willing to work weekends and nights, she was quite receptive to hiring me. She called me 2 days later and offered me the position.

Since I had previously been with the company, my initial interview was merely asking me questions like...1-what brings you back to Chico's 2-why do you want to work for Chico's 3- What are your expectations as a Sales Associate 4- What availability working part time do you have? 5- When are you available to start working for our company
I think being employed on a part time basis with Chico's needs to be addressed as to what Chico's means by offering part time positions. I came on with Chico's working 20 hours. Now, Chico's is doing what they call "Spirit Scheduling" which randomly selects people to work according to sales they had the previous week. Another words, if you work a shift where people don't buy your product that day or week, you are penalized the next week. That is where I believe they are going the wrong direction. Some of us are working there because love our jobs, others work there to get a discount on clothing. My question, what is wrong with this picture?

I was able to negotiate when I had a manager ask me to come back to Chico's. I believe I should have received a better pay than I did since I have been in retail for so many years, and a lot of those years on and off with Chico's. (I had to leave for health reasons a couple of times.)
One has to really sell themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe that is the key.

Took me to the back room in a hallway for interview. Cramped up with 2 associates within 2 feet of me. Not an ideal situation. They asked serveral questions and wrote my answers down, but never looked at me.

I put in my application in the store and was told that I would be contacted in the following week. I was contacted but it was not the following week it was 2 weeks later. I was scheduled an interview with a assistant manager. I came in an the interview was very brief, less than 30 minutes. I was asked to tell about myself, my experience and was asked about other job offers, which I did have. At the interview I was told that I would be contacted to come to work and would tell the scheduler to add me to the schedule. I contacted them because I had not heard from them in the time frame promised.

Interviewed by Assistant Manager. She used a standardized interview form: "Tell me about a time when..." you had a difficult customer, you didn't get along with a co-worker, etc. About a week later I had an interview with the Manager; same type interview. Offered job the same day, started same day.
