Interviewed Apr 2010 (took a day)
after the basic phone interview, you go to interview face to face. The interview is pretty easy and relaxed for the most part, especially if you demonstrate an interest in trading and are ok with brain teasers. The brain teasers they asked me were fairly easy... a question about how to measure a certain amt of water with two different sized jugs, a question about 9 marbles, a question that had to do with risk/reward calculation, and a couple other ones that were pretty easy.
Interview Questions
You have a balance scale to weigh them, but can only use it twice. How can you single out the heaviest marble?
Negotiation Details
No negotiation really
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed May 2009 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
My first interview was an on-campus one. It was very standard, nothing out of the ordinary. A few weeks later I went to New York for an in-person interview with two people. There were a few curveballs: they asked what the craziest thing I ever did was, and I needed a few seconds to think of something appropriate. They asked a few skill questions, such as having a balance beam and needing to figured out which of 9 balls is the lightest. They also asked a few statistic type questions. I got a call with an offer a week later, but decided against it.

Straightforward. One logic question, one brainteaser. The rest fit based. Interviewers were friendly.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 2 weeks)
I went in to their NY office to have a one on one interview after communicating through email with the recruiter. The atmosphere in the office was really casual and people were friendly. The interviewer tells you to run through your resume and follows up with the usual behavioral questions.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
I met with a rep from Chimera on the campus of my university. It was a fairly standard interview, he asked me why I wanted to work in the field and what qualities I had that would allow me succeed in trading. His questions were all very generic interview questions, and didn't ask any sort of case problem.
Toward the end of the interview I asked about compensation for their training program which had been advertised as a having a salary for the first few months. He informed me that the policy had changed and the first three months of the training program is completely unpaid and there is no guarantee that the firm will hire you full-time after the program. I think my poker face failed me when he asked if I was still interested, because I havn't heard from the company since.

Interviewed Feb 2008 in New York, NY (took a day)
The interview was very casual and was with a partner and a head trader. Many questions were about fit, gauging risk aversion, etc. Questions like "What was the biggest risk you have ever taken?" "On a scale of 1-5, how risk averse do you think you are?" are pretty common. Technical questions were very basic expected value probability questions. Also one brainteaser about weighing 9 marbles twice to find the heavier one.
