I applied through an employee referral and the process took a day - interviewed at Chimera Securities in July 2011.
Interview Details – after the basic phone interview, you go to interview face to face. The interview is pretty easy and relaxed for the most part, especially if you demonstrate an interest in trading and are ok with brain teasers. The brain teasers they asked me were fairly easy... a question about how to measure a certain amt of water with two different sized jugs, a question about 9 marbles, a question that had to do with risk/reward calculation, and a couple other ones that were pretty easy.
Negotiation Details – No negotiation really
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Chimera Securities in May 2010.
Interview Details – I went in to their NY office to have a one on one interview after communicating through email with the recruiter. The atmosphere in the office was really casual and people were friendly. The interviewer tells you to run through your resume and follows up with the usual behavioral questions.
Interview Question – What are 3 qualities that you have that are useful to being a trader? Answer Question
