Restaurant Team Member at Chipotle

No Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2013 – Reviewed Feb 26, 2013

Interview Details – Applied online, then three or four days later I got a call for a group interview. Forty minutes after the interview, a manager called and told me that, by mistake on their part, they gave me an interview even though I wasn't 18.

Crew at Chipotle

No Offer – Interviewed in Manteca, CA Jan 2013 – Reviewed Feb 21, 2013

Interview Details – Store was dirty, staff was gernerally uninterested but pretty, being a hipster will help you get this job. Really doen't matter how much you know about the company, I memorised the entire dolly madison story including how big the first building was, when they opened new locations, read the whole article that inspired steve ells to serve healthy food. Talked at length about new green location and the use of windmills to help power resturants. Bottom line, don't be above 25, and make certain you look good in skinny jeans. Cake on make up. Again don't eat the food, the store was filthy, but the staff is pretty and useless.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Beverly Hills, CA Feb 2012 – Reviewed Feb 14, 2013

Interview Details – Applied online and a week later they call me to come the very next morning for an interview. It was a new chipotle opening up and there were a bunch of people there waiting outside which kinda made me nervous heh. It took about 45 minutes to start the interview process because one of the other interviewers was running late. I did the interview with another person and we were interviewed by the new manager running the new chipotle and a restaurateur. They asked us fairly basic questions like tell me about yourself, strengths/weakness, etc. I thought I did fairly well and I was right since both of us got punched in for a 2nd interview the next morning! The 2nd interview was done with a group of 4 and both the same interviewers plus another restaurateur that owned 4 restaurants. You would think it would be one intimidating interview but they were all nice and chill. The other 4 people being interviewed with me were all friendly and got great vibes off them, we also laughed quite a lot cause the other restaurateur was cracking jokes haha. It made the interview 10x more relaxing and somewhat easier. The first part of the interview was pretty serious asking us questions like where do you see yourself in 2 years, situational stuff, and why should I choose you over the other 4 here. They also asked a of lot questions regarding the videos on their webpage and youtube acc. We were the last 4 that were interviewed that day and they told us were the first 4 hired after it was done!!! The restaurateurs and general manager made this a very pleasant interview experience. I think I'm going to love working here :)

Chipotle Crew Member at Chipotle

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Easton, MD Jan 2013 – Reviewed Jan 28, 2013

Interview Details – I applied at Chipotle and about 3 weeks later i received an email saying that they were interested but it was at i time i could not make. They left a number and i called, they let me reschedule.
I showed up 5 minutes early and waited in the line and told the guy working that i was there for an interview. He got the manager, She was about 30 and she was super nice. She smiled and introduced herself, i did the same. We sat down and this group of about 5 old people kept staring and smiling at me throughout the whole interview. It was so irritating and rather creepy. Anyway i thanked her for letting me reschedule and showed her my portfolio. She was impressed. She asked me basic questions like "Tell me about you", I said i was 17, go to High School, I'm smart, I have a good attendance record, I do sports, and listed words that describe me. "Why Chipotle?" I answered that I love to satisfy people, "If i were a customer and having difficulty ordering, how would you help?" I said I would be happy to walk you through what we serve."What do you know about Chipotle?" I recited the food with integrity motto. I think that's all and she was really impressed. She gave this worker a hand motion but tried to hide it from me. This other really nice lady came over and introduced herself. The first interviewer told her about me and she was impressed. From there they both complemented me on how happy and excited i was because they really look for people like that. Then they told me that everyone that works at Chipotle is friends and they invited me to come in on a Saturday to get to know everyone. I just got back from the interview like an hour ago so I really can't say if i got it or not but they really liked me and I think/hope i got it :)

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Phoenix, AZ Feb 2012 – Reviewed Jan 28, 2013

Interview Details – You need to be persistent if you would like a position at Chipotle. They only hire "top performers". Don't be afraid to continue calling each day to check in on the status of your application. There are often hundreds of applications in our office, so make it known that you want the job. You will need to be interviewed roughly 2 or 3 times, so be patient.

Crew Member at Chipotle

No Offer – Interviewed in Braintree, MA Jan 2013 – Reviewed Jan 25, 2013

Interview Details – For one thing, I had originally applied to Chipotle's division in Newton, MA back this past Fall. The "managers" I've talked to were extremely unprofessional, and claimed to have "no access" to my information in their recruitment systems despite the fact that when I applied again a month ago, my info was in "Taleo" already. I was emailed and invited to an interview, only to find out it was a disorganised group interview that took place at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree at the beginning of Dinner Rush. I was seated with four or five other people, a couple of which came in late for the "interview". It was weird to say the least, but I made sure to stay engaged and answer the questions the "recruiter" asked us. We all had to answer very generic questions, one of which I feel as though was a trap/trick question: "What was your worst job and why?" The cardinal rule is, if you don't want to hear the answer, do not ask the question. So, I went with a particular experience that was bad, because of the environment I had to work in. It was like High School, everyone talking about eachother behind their backs. I was totally honest about it, and apparently the "recruiter" didn't like that too much. I was advised that I would know today whether or not I got the job. I received an email advising me that they could not offer me a position at Chipotle, despite my years of line cook and food production experience. I called the South Shore Plaza location for an answer as to WHY; I am qualified and I don't really quite understand why I wouldn't be able to perform the job...no answer back as of yet. Something tells me I won't get an answer. Word to the wise: Don't waste your time at these seeming cattle calls.

Interview Question – No real "difficult" questions; they asked them, I gave an honest answer. I was attentive and outgoing. Apparently, that's unacceptable.   Answer Question
