Interviewed Sep 2011 in Auburn Hills, MI (took 6+ weeks)
Very slow to get through process. Be patient. Group interview behavior questions. Drug test and physical required at an offsite location. Company is adding a lot of people and I hope they all don't get laid off if economy tanks. A few years ago the building was empty in spots and now all filled up. Some confusion regarding actually what benefits I was eligible for - this was not spelled out clearly up front. Make sure and understand this. I was grateful for the job so not a big deal to me.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Auburn Hills, MI (took 3 weeks)
Chrysler hires third party vendor to conduct phone interviews. However, it appeared that the person collecting the information did not capture everything I was trying to convey. After the interview ended, I felt very uneasy. The concepts I communicated are pretty difficult to understand for someone not familiar with the field.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Auburn Hills, MI (took 2 weeks)
Used 5 star interview process. Interviews went well and lasted about one hour. The rest of the process takes a while. Have patience, the hiring process takes a while. Be very detailed about what you what and make sure to ask a lot of questions to understand if you are a fit for the job. There is a physical and background check done by a third party source.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Auburn Hills, MI (took a day)
I was contacted by a recruiter a week in advance to come in for an interview at their main Auburn Hills location. The process consisted of a panel interview by 2 individuals in a fairly relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. They asked pretty standard interview questions, specifically about my technical background and various aspects of my experience, such as projects I had worked on and which CAD packages I was familiar with. I was given a fairly detailed description of the position's responsibilities as well as day-to-day tasks. It lasted 40-45 minutes in total.
However, when I contacted the recruiter to follow up, he said the managers had not given him any feedback and I was not given a call back

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Auburn Hills, MI (took a day)
Basic STAR question format. They stuck to the sheet and did not talk about anything else. Very unorganized hiring process. No details were given until right before the job started and then they were very vague and mostly incorrect. They told me to show up three hours earlier than I was supposed to on my first day.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Auburn Hills, MI (took 4+ weeks)
Overall a very weird process that had little transparency.
Chrysler uses a 3rd party company to screen candidates and then narrow down to the top few before ever speaking to anyone. Once invited to a phone interview I was explained that it was the first and last interview before a decision would be made. Being an out-of-town candidate there is no way I would ever accept an offer without having a face-to-face interview in order to see the internal culture and their facilities. This is apparently not the case at Chrysler.
I received a canned email 2 weeks after my so-called “final” interview stating that they went with someone else.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Auburn Hills, MI (took a day)
Interviews on-site at university campus. Interview was done with a group of two interviewers. Typical behavior based interview with things like what is an activity that you had to compromise your performance on due to time restrictions. General get to know you type interview.
Chrysler Talent Acquisition did not move appropriately fast this year and the time between leaving the interview and receiving an offer was about 4 months. Held on because I wanted to work in the area and not leave the state.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Auburn Hills, MI (took 3 weeks)
After applying for the position, I was contacted by Human Resources within about 3 weeks to schedule a 1:1 interview. I met with the hiring manager who conducted a 45 minute interview. The hiring manager was extremly friendly and asked typical behavior interview questions. The work culture seemed very professional and the building was very impressive. I received an email 2 weeks after my interview informing me of their hiring decision.
