Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 3 weeks)
I applied online on the citi website. And after that I got an email saying I had passed. Awhile after that(within a few days) I got another email to set up a phone interview. I set it up for the next day and was called at the exact time they said. They were very nice on the phone and asked questions about my work backround mostly customer service and cash handling. They also asked some situaional questions such as what i did when a customer got upset or what I did when i had many tasks all at once.

Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 1 week)
Applied online. One week later got an email where they asked me to choose date and time of the interview. Interviewer called me 4 minutes earlier. The interview took me about 10 minutes. Questions: Why did you choose a Citibank? Why do you want to be a teller? Why did you apply for this position? Describe a situation when you had a difficult customer and how did you handle it. What do i do on a slow day at work? How would you handle a customer that comes in with multiple requests? How would you make sure the tasks are satisfactory to the customers needs? What other sales or retail experience do you have? That lady interviewer was a little pushy and rude. She did not let me think at all. I think I did well, but she seemed to be irritated by something, so I was nervous. I did not get an offer from them.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Pasadena, CA (took 3 weeks)
I applied for this job about 3 weeks ago, I took the online assesment and passed and a few days later recieved an email saying that I would be hearing from them shortly. About 2 days later I got a phone call saying that they wanted to set up a time for me to do phone interview and scheduled it for the next day at 2:20 (they were right on time calling at exactly 2:20) The interview went good so I think she asked the basic tell me about a time when you...., or have you ever had to..., she also asked why I wanted to work at a bank and why citibank.. At the end I was told that my qualifications were going to sent to the branch I applied to, and that I would be hearing from someone within 5 to 10 business days either by email or phone call if they decide to continue with an interview or not. It is past the 10 day mark I have not recieved a phone call nor an email.. I would think that if they decided not to hire me that they would simply send the famous thanks but no thanks email but still nothing.. I would really like to know what the hold up is and why its taking so long for them to reply, or if they are even going to. Has anyone else had this happen? and if so did they ever reply

Interviewed Mar 2012 (took 2 weeks)
I applied online about 2 weeks ago and had to take an online assessment with really easy, basic, questions. After that, i got an email saying that i passed the assessment and that if i was qualified i would be notified in about 5-10 days to schedule a phone interview. About two days later i got an email to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was fairly easy if you are prepared. They ask about your previous job experiences and dealing with customers. They call at the exact time that you schedule your appt so be aware of that. When the phone interview was over the recruiter said that if i was qualified they would contact me within 5-10 business days. Two days later i got a call from my local branch and asked if i was still interested in the position and if i was to go in for an interview. I have my 1 one 1 interview tomorrow and hopefully all goes well!!

Interviewed Mar 2012 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
Basically after the online application you go through the recruiter process. But this was my third interview with citi so I called my local recruiter since i had her number from the previous interview and left her a message about submitting my app for the branch I applied too. Two days later I get a call from the branch manager and we set up a interview date. On the interview day she made me wait 20 minutes because she was dealing with a customer and her staff after that. She asks what I'm taking in college and then a set of general questions like "a time when I have abruptly been asked to do something and how i reacted about doing it." Other questions were "where do i see myself in five years, being the most satisfied and dissatisfied with my previous jobs, going about what i did on a particular slow day at work, and solving a problem for a customer." I'm probably missing some more but i'll add it in if i remember. I asked a question about the most challenging aspect of the position and she rambled on about it and went off topic too about citi being a great company and her previous jobs-of course I'm sitting there and agreeing about citi's great products and company culture. I liked that she said she doesn't stress tellers on sales because after a while it irritates customers and really wants tellers to concentrate on providing the service-sincere thank yous and referring customers by name.
Just be really customer service orientated, show your enthusiasm for their products-0% credit cards etc. the company culture and you'll do fine.
Anyway I don't think I'll be getting a call back because she said my classes will conflict with her scheduling as she needs someone available 6 days a week and went on about trying other banks who can really work with schooling using her daughter as an example. Oh well, I tried.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Stockton, CA (took 1 week)
I applied online. Took a personality and IQ test. Then I received an email two days later to schedule a phone interview. You have the option of scheduling your phone interview online as well and if you do, make sure you calculate the time to your time zone. They use central time. The next day I had a phone interview. She asked situational and open ended questions and there was an awkward pause while the interviewer finished typing what I responded. The questions were also repetitive.

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 1 week)
Applied online about a week ago and got a phone interview today. I assume it took them a while to get back to me because of the holidays. Scheduled a phone interview for tomorrow morning. After the application process online, I had to take an assessment that consisted of math and critical thinking. After taking the assessment, I got an email confirming that I had passed the test and someone was going to contact me soon if I qualified.
