No Offer – Interviewed in Washington, DC Jun 2010 – Reviewed Sep 4, 2010
Interview Details – I had two phone interviews with two different interviewers. The first one takes about 15 min and the second takes 30-45 min. The interviewers tell you this at the beginning. The interview itself is by no means a conversation. It's very straight forward and they type everything you say into their computer (you can hear them). I would recommend brainstorming some answers to some interview questions before the interview (e.g., what are your strengths/weaknesses). I did this and it helped. Also, because it is a phone interview and they can't see you, keep your resume and anything else you think might help in front of you. Someone suggested I do this, and I'm really glad I had it out because I did have to refer to it during the interview.

No Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2010 – Reviewed Aug 21, 2011
Interview Details – Did a phone and 1:1 interview with mostly the same questions. They gave me the option of making the 1:1 interview over the phone. The 1:1 was pretty much useless and should have just stuck to the phone option.
Interview Questions
No Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2011 – Reviewed Mar 16, 2011
Interview Details – I commend City Year for their persistence and quick responses. The staff make you feel as if they truly want you to be a part of their program. Although, for my first interview, my interviewer was very dry and at times made me feel uncomfortable, my second interview was much better. I would advise anyone who plans on interviewing to think of any group activities they've recently participated in, their challenges within the group, and the outcome, as most of the questions seem to be geared on assessing how well you work with others.
Interview Question – (Don't remember the exact phrasing) How would you approach a situation that requires someone that doesn't have as much experience as you to have a position of authority over you? And, how would you handle yourself if you were ask to be in a authority position over people that clearly have more experience than you? Answer Question
Pros: High expectations for work with youth, which is hard to find in non-profits. Gain strong teamwork, management, and leadership skills. Excellent fit for anyone looking to work in education. – Full Review `
