Declined Offer – Interviewed in Olympia, WA Mar 2013 – Reviewed Apr 10, 2013
Interview Details – Applied online through monster and had an interview the next week. Met with the district manager and assistant manager. When arriving had to wait over twenty minutes in the store while the district manager came back to lunch. At the interview the district manager had the assistant store conduct the interview through a packet which she stumbled through. After reviewing my resume the district manager offered me an assistant manager position for a store over 40 miles away...stating that I was unqualifed to be a store manager and that with hard work and customer service I could work my way up to store manager in a year or so.
Interview Question – How do you lead a group? View Answer
Reason for Declining – 40 miles away and was for a position lower than what I wanted.

Interview Details –
I filled out an application and as soon as I turned it in the assistant manager asked me if I could come in the next day for an interview which took about half an hour. She was very stern and serious about the work but also was laughing and smiling. I was 16 when I was hired, during the interview she asked about my references and my work experience including volunteer work. She asked me questions about what I'd do in hypothetical situations, asked about my favorite/least favorite teachers in school, my favorite stores to buy from, if I could comply with company dress code, etc.
A couple days later I was called asking to come in for an interview with the head manager who asked me way fewer questions and basically explained the policies and the job description to me and answered and questions I had. She called all of my references and even though my past employer hated me and gave me a negative review (which I expected because he hated me from day 1 when the manager of his store hired me), she still hired me for the season which became a permanent position.
I came in and filled out paperwork such as an employee training manual, watched a few videos, tax and payment forms, etc. (you'll have ear-piercing training some weeks/months later) for an entire 2 hour shift and then began work the day after that.
Interview Question – The interviewer asked me what I would do if someone stole from the store. I told her that I'd take the things back and kick them out of the store. She told me that they give no warnings, they immediately call security. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There were no negotiations.

Hiring Process:
- If you have past management experience, then you'll be considered. If you are a good 3rd key holder, you might get a promotion
Interview:
Basic questions like -- "Describe a situation where you had a rude customer and how did you resolve that? or " Tell me a time where you went beyond to get the job done"
Interview Question – Depends on the interviewer. I got asked " Do you go to clubs a lot or go partying every weekends?" It's just funny but I totally get it.. She explained that because if ever I am scheduled to open on a saturday or sunday morning, (w/c they usually do for asst mngr positions), then I can't call in often or go to work w/ a hangover Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation. Honestly, how that does even work on retail positions? If you got the job, that's the only time you know how much you're getting, so you can't really just quit if its too low or something.. right?
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Florence, AL Dec 2009 – Reviewed Sep 9, 2012
Interview Details – Depends on the person interviewing. The store manager talked with me for 30 mins. Her assistant talked with me for almost an hour and asked real life situation questions, told me about the job and what they expect.... not the rehearsed question on paper that the store manger asked.
Interview Question – They were all pretty easy. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Flat out no on the hourly increase, was told the regional manager would say no, store manager didn't even ask.
No Offer – Interviewed in Tampa, FL Aug 2012 – Reviewed Sep 7, 2012

I applied for the position online and was contacted within a couple weeks by Human Resources for a phone interview. Phone interview was about 30 min and asked very basic questions regarding my resume and some situational questions.
After speaking with HR they asked to come in for an in person interview, which I went about a week later. First I had a brief face-to-face interview with the HR person I spoke with on the phone. Then I met with two people from the real estate department for an additional interview which took about 45 minutes. I received an email a few weeks later confirming I did not get the offer.
