Interviewed Mar 2010 in Indianapolis, IN (took 3 weeks)
Initially I was contacted by the recruiter. After about a week I heard back from him saying that they had a project and that they were interested in my profile. This lasted for about 20 minutes. After about a week I heard from the Project Manager of the recruiting project. Basically this was more technical and they asked me to describe the kind of job I was in and my duties etc. They also asked about some behavioral stuff. After this there was about 2 weeks I did not hear a thing. Then finally I was offered a postion of a business analyst which I accepted.
Negotiation Details
They quote a very low salary say about 5% more than what you would be making. You will have to bargain for a better salary.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
I was flown into Dallas, TX for an onsite interview. There I was asked questions about my past experience and nothing more. They informed us from the very beginning that this would be a very informal interview. I was given an offer and EASILY DECLINED, because how the company presented itself and treated all the people that were interviewing with them that day.
First, they barely informed us of our schedule for the day and we were left clueless as to what was happening until the very last minute.
Second, they gave a terrible impression of the company from the very beginning. We were to individually foot all the expenses for food while we were there for the interviews. I have interviewed at numerous companies and never have seen this happen before. It seemed like they didn't give a crap about the people they were interviewing.
Third, the offer was incredibly low. Terrible benefits.
Lastly, they ended the interview at 2pm and scheduled our flights 6 hours later around 8pm. When asked to move up our flights they informed us that we will have to pay the cost of changing the flight times. That was unbelievable. At that point i hated this company.
Cognizant claims to be such a great company and by advertising its profits and awards. Honestly, I want to work at place that treats it employees well and respects their hard work. If this company can't even set a good example to the people they plan on hiring. I doubt they give the slightest amount of respect to the people who already work there. Everyone that day I interview with felt the exact same way. The way our group was treated I doubt they will ever recruit great talent from Top Universities.
Go to Microsoft or even Google. I did.
P.S. I would rather work at a fast food chain than ever considering working at this place.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 2 days)
Phone interview was mainly about my resume. They ask very general questions on my work profile. This was after an initial screening from the HR phone call. I assume in phone interview, they primarily check the confidence, if resume is legitimate and communication skills.
In person interview went on for almost 2 hours. They grilled me on various technologies, specially on SOA and ITIL best practices. They asked a lot about user stories, scrum, agile since it was there on my resume and directly related to my job profile.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Raleigh, NC (took 1+ week)
Was asked my previous work experience and how can I relate those to the role that the prospective client would offer. Was asked about practical situations that may arise at the new work place and how would someone tackle that. All in all it was more of a discussion that an interview.

Negotiation Details
Was able to negotiate a 10% raise over my previous California salary which was much more than what they initially offered. Advice - If you are not desperate for the job, make sure you ask for a substantial raise.
