Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 2 weeks)
At least 3-4 times cancelled scheduled phone interview before we finally make this interview. Without previous notice or apologies after.
When we finally made this interview it was a mess. Firstly, I spoke with a manager. He was not that bad for the level of the whole process, however not something special. He then transferred the call to an off-shore manager. I could hardly hear what he was asking. He asked me two question. One of which was from a different field of expertise. I would not recommend this company.

Interviewed May 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took 4 weeks)
Went through an employee referral. Was interviewed by two managers and a VP. A week later HR called to ask some additional questions regarding willingness to relocate, and expected salary and duration of notice period with my current employer . After that there has been no response from them. Exvrytime I spoke to them, they assured me that they would get back to me withing 24 hours. In the last 2 months, they havent!
During the interview all of the people were friendly and things went on well. But the lack of response- one way or the other is frustrating and reflects poorly on the firm

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Phoenix, AZ (took a day)
Was contacted through a recruiter, Wolftec, that outlined a completely ridiculous interview process that included included phone interviews, 1:1 interviews, panel interviews, then I would have to submit my past three years w2's so Cognizant could confirm my salary. Wolftec kept pointing out that this was Cognizant's process, which rang a little false to me. I was then contacted by a recruiter from Cognizant, who declined my credentials. I then sent a follow up email addressing the recruiters concerns and I was granted a 1:1 interview/tech screen, passed that fine, and then flew to another city for a 1:1 panel interview. Everyone I spoke to from Cognizant was very friendly, didn't really discuss a lot of the job stuff so much and I thought I made a good presentation of myself but a few days later I was told that Cognizant decided to pass. Easy interview, probably should have steered the conversations back to why I would have been a great candidate. Never received a reason why I was declined. Experience with the company was positive, but headhunter get's a check-minus.
