Interviewed Dec 2011 in Kingwood, TX (took a day)
Contacted within a few weeks of filling out an application online. Expected a group interview, but came to find out that it was only 4 other teenagers. We filled out applications and went in the back one at a time to interview. The back, unlike the public area, appeared messy and the interviewer had her baby with her which was a distraction. She barely asked me any questions, instead simply telling me things I already had researched about the job that were hard to understand because of her accent. I had to sing a tip song, which was one thing I was not too happy about. Did not receive an offer within normal time but eventually went back in the store about a month later and they eventually replied with information on when I could begin work. Overall, I came to the interview overprepared and was unimpressed with the lack of professionalism, but still took the job because I needed work.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 days)
You had to stand outside and wait for applications to be handed out. Once the application was filled out then you were asked to go inside to interview. You stood in a line with everyone else who was interviewing and introduced yourself. Everyone went around and did a dance for 30 seconds then we were broken up into groups to present a song that one would sing for tips. The second day everyone who made it to that round received an offer.

I applied couple of months ago and she had fired A lot of people so she called and let me know there were auditions happening, and they were right, we had to sing, dance, etc, it was a very unusual interview but it was really fun!

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Springfield, PA (took a day)
Cold Stone's interview process is very unique. Group interviews could be intimidating but you have to remember to have fun and be yourself. Be as outgoing as possible. When I got called for the interview, I was super nervous the day before. But one of my friends told be to be outgoing and loud. Thats exactly what I did. The interview started off by asking everyone what their favorite movie is and why?
Then they gave us a sheet of paper where there were some songs on cold stone and we had to pick a song on the spot and sing it individually (BE VERY LOUD BECAUSE I WAS). Being loud showed them you were not afraid to sing in font of a group of 18 people. That's the type of people they want to hire.
Last, was the group project. I was in a group of me and two other girls and we had to make up our own song on cold stone. So we made the song up and performed it. All three of us sang it very loudly and even did a dance.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took a day)
I applied in person and was called a few days later to schedule an interview. Did the interview and I was offered a job on the spot. The manager at the one I applied at had been in the position for a few years and she knows what she was looking for.

Interviewed May 2009 in Boise, ID (took a day)
I applied online and was called to come in for an "audition". An "audition" was right. I came to the store and there was conducted the group interview that consisted of us going around and answering random questions that were supposed to bring out our personality. PERSONALITY is key to getting this job. It was a lot of fun, especially when asked to create our own song/jingle (in a small group) and our own individual "Creation".

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Triadelphia, WV (took a day)
I got to Cold Stone Creamery, and about eight people were sitting in a circle toward the back. These were the other applicants. Rather than an interview, the process was an "audition," complete with singing a song we made up about Cold Stone. The whole process was fairly relaxed, but the oddity of having to perform was off-putting. Also, one prospective employee showed up at least a half hour late; I'm fairly sure she was the only one of us who was hired. So punctuality probably isn't a huge deal.

Interviewed May 2009 in Rochester, MN (took a day)
I only had one interview and I was hired on the spot. The interview consisted of basic questions like what my plans were for after school, why I wanted to work there and things about if I can perform certain job tasks. He intially told me he hired me because he liked my smile.

Interviewed May 2009 in Royal Oak, MI (took 2 days)
I applied online for a job at Cold Stone Creamery, but I didn't hear back for about two weeks. I was invited to an "audition" (their word for interview) two days later by phone. There were about 5-6 people at the 'audition,' which truly was more like a casting call than job interview. We were led through a brief introduction and than asked to play a game of charades, where individually, we were instructed to act out a television or movie character and than sing a song.
I received a call the next day letting me know that I had the job if I wanted it.
