Interviewed May 2009 in Sandpoint, ID (took a day)
After 2 pre-screen phone interviews I was flown out to Sandpoint. Overall, the interview process was typical of any company that relocates candidates. They bring you in. You meet with anywhere between 5-10 people depending on the level of the desired position. Either they leave you in a room for a couple of hours where people buzz in & out to interview you or you’re literally office hopping from one person to the next. It's kind of like speed dating for employment. I interviewed with about 9 individuals total, one by one. I wasn't nervous since I'm used to this style of interviewing and enjoy getting a sense of what people are like in other departments. My interviews appeared to be going well until I met with the hiring manager. It was almost immediately clear that she didn't like me or wasn't interested in speaking to me about the role. Then she proceeded to go on and on during the interview about how talented she was and great here ideas are. We interviewed over lunch outdoors where she refuses to make eye contact with me and wore her sunglasses the entire time even though the sun was to her back. In general I thought she was tactless, rude, over bearing and talentless (despite much you’re thought of herself). Anyhow, after three more interviews which were added at the very last minute I was given a project to work. Needless to say I didn't want the role that I was interviewing for but since the 1st opportunity got put on hold I had no other choice. After about a 2 week wait, hr. confirmed my suspicions and I was not offered the role. That was back in 2008. A couple months later a role came up that I was a good fit for and that's when I started.
