Interviewed May 2009 in Eau Claire, WI (took a day)
Applied online through Craig's List. Was contacted via e-mail and asked to call to schedule an interview. One-on-one interview in a local restaurant. Very relaxed. The Franchise Manager was very ambitious and intelligent, but paying employees became an issue a few months into working there. Bonuses paid for gathering clients committed to a free estimate of service. $20 cash on the spot for each lead, which was nice. Downside was that we were required to search for leads after working a full day, which was very tiring.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Green Bay, WI (took 3 weeks)
The interviewing process was very in-depth. It took multiple interviews and multiple call-backs to reach a verdict. The interview process forced me to think outside the box a little more and made me really stretch for my motivations, dreams, and goals. It was a very good experience.

Interviewed Feb 2008 in Walla Walla, WA (took 2 days)
It started with a informational interview which was more geared towards selling the benefits of the position to me and how it would advance my future career goals. I was intrigued and scheduled for the first interview which was primarily conducted by the General Manager of the region. I did not have to speak with any other manager. The process involved a data pack which took me 2 hours to complete. The second interview was a more in depth, one on one experience. The interview was overall comfortable and the questions were searching for my motivation and commitment to this line of work. Finally I was given a call at a scheduled time and offered the job. I accepted it.

Negotiation Details
If anything, I was able to negotiate the territory of my business. Overall it was a great personal experience and allowed me to really gain real world experience as a college student. The overall level of responsibility and training were my favorite aspects of the position. However, it is risky and students have lost money doing this job. But if you have a good General Manager and you are motivated to hit goals then you should be fine.

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 1 week)
The initial group 'interview' was more of an informational session where they panel consisted of the company's General manager and a few students from my University who had experience working for the company and were returning as managers for the position I was offered.
The main thing they wanted to know was why you wanted to work for them and why you thought you would be a good fit for the company. Apparently why you would be a good fit for the company was more important because I didn't want to work for them I more or less just wanted interview experience. But I had worked on a crew for a similar company so they knew that I understood their business structure and could do well in their company.
The second 1 on 1 interview was with a manager from my state not my university and had questions based on basic problem solving and managing.

I met one on one with the General Manager for the area. He discussed all the legal work and then discussed qualificatons, etc. I have previously painted for him so it was probably different than a typical interview.

Interviewed Mar 2007 in Bloomington, MN (took 3 days)
The hiring process for me was easy. I had a long time friend working as a manager that summer and needed people. I was unable to get a job anywhere else, so i took this one. The interview was incredibly easy since it was one of my friends and we just discussed roles and responsibilities.

Interviewed May 2007 in Rochester, NY (took a day)
I submitted my application and was called by the regional manager. We met in a coffee shop to talk about the job. He asked me about previous work experiences and I told them how I had painted for 3 years and was a business major in school. He asked me situational questions which I answered and he offered me the job on the site. its fairly easy because they have high turnover, low retention and need a number of crews of at least 4 people each.
