Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4+ weeks)
Applied to the position by directly contacting the hiring manager for the position. I had a phone screen with a woman from HR to see if my salary expectations were in line with what they could offer (which was a bit low in my opinion) and to discuss the position's expectations more to see if I wanted to move forward. I was coming from a different background, so they might not do this with everyone.
I had a phone interview with the team leader of Strategic Consulting for a half hour on the phone the following week. He asked me to describe my current position, why I wanted to switch to a different career, and if I have experience communicating with clients.
A couple weeks after that I came in for an in-person interview. I spoke individually with 3 managers of the Strategic Consulting group. The first interviewer gave me a case study and had me do a brain-teaser around figuring out all of the information in a puzzle by having little bits of them. The case study involved the sales agents and call center sales staff vying for territory and how I would settle the dispute, how to make a decision, what actions to take, and finally how would I present it. The other two were just discussions. I finally had a lunch with another analyst and then left.
