Interviewed Jan 2012 in Tinley Park, IL (took 2 weeks)
I applied online for the position and was contacted by a recruiter who scheduled a phone interview for the following day. After the phone interview, I was invited to what I though would be an interview but was a Group Information Session that lasted 2 hours. It was a thorough explanation of the company and the position. You would think after being there so long you would interview on the spot! Anyway, after the presentation you had to leave your resume where you were sitting and they said we would be contacted within 1-2 weeks for a face-to-face interview. I went on my interview a week later and while waiting in the lobby, employees were talking loudly on their phones and seemed to be horsing around! I took it as a sign that I could shine with my professionalism in the interview. Not the case....After interviewing with the New Hire manager going through a series of customer service scenarios and questions about my background, I was handed a letter stating they appreciated my time and i will be contacted in regards to a decision. At that point I knew I wasn't getting the position...mainly because during the interview he kept referring to my "lack of call center experience' even thoiugh I had a years experience in that position AND the job posting said it required 0-6 months worth of exp....Hope this was a little bit helpful! GOOD LUCK!!

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Elmhurst, IL (took 2 weeks)
I applied for the job through Careerbuilder and was contacted to take an on-line test.
I took the test and was contacted a few days later that I had passed and set-up an appointment
a week later for an interview. Prior to the interview, I filled-out an online job application
Upon arriving at the interview, I completed some more paperwork and waited about 10 minutes.
I met initially with a zone manager and one of their top sales reps. They were very nice and
I spent approx. an hour talking to them. Upon leaving, the district manager asked if I had time to meet
with him. I agreed. He and another manager interviewed me and their questions were more direct and pointed. At some point, I felt the interview became somewhat hostile and almost rude. It stopped rather abrutly and I left. I decided afterward that this was not the position or company for me.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Oak Brook, IL (took 2 weeks)
I received an email from a third party recruiter who had found my resume on Monster. That same day, I responded to his email and he called me for a brief, 20-minute phone interview. He told me the hiring managers at Comcast wouldn't be deciding who to interview for a week. A little less than a week later, I got a call from Comcast's HR department asking to schedule an interview with the hiring manager in two days' time. The interview with the HM was remarkably easy, after half an hour or so she said she was going to check if her boss was available to meet with me. I spoke to him one-on-one for 10-15 minutes, and at the end he indicated that they were very impressed and would be in touch soon. Later that day, I received a call from a Comcast recruiter asking me to apply for the position online so they could prepare an offer package. I received a written offer letter exactly one week later and accepted the next day.

Negotiation Details
No, and this is my only regret regarding the whole process. I felt a little rushed (not from my soon-to-be manger, but from the HR department) to make a decision and come in to fill out new hire paperwork. I tried to get the hiring manager on the phone before accepting but was unable to connect with her, for reasons that were largely a result of my own crazy schedule. Hoping I'll be able to negotiate a raise at my first performance review. That said, the offer they made was not bad at all and the benefits are truly amazing.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 5 days)
It was the most unprofessional interview I have been to. When you first arrive there they put you in their employee break room and tell you to wait. It was very uncomfortable with employees coming in the room cooking and eating their lunches. After 45 minutes of waiting, yes that's right they where 45 minutes late for the interview they came and got me. The interview was done by two supervisors at once and from the moment the interview starts you know your not being hired. One of them acted totally not interested in doing the interview by huffing and puffing and tossing around a company provided question sheet. Plus he was wearing a black comcast jacket and a stocking cap, way to represent your company!
They act like you're lying about your answers. I told them I know how to setup wireless routers, dsl modems, and cable modems, which I do. The response from one was "Oh now your reaching, you better watch it my partner here knows all about that stuff".. I'm sitting there thinking, setting up that equipment is easy, if you take the time to understand it, anyone could do it.
I was professional throughout and had good answers for all their questions. When the interview ended as I was about to leave the one interviewer said in a snide way "Just being honest here, we have more interviews setup so expect a call or email,,,naaah it will be an email from hr in 2-3 weeks." I'm thinking, what a complete D**K
The whole interview was a waste of time. Who they are going to hire is predetermined, probably one of their friends. Know matter how well I did, I could tell I would have never be hired.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Schaumburg, IL (took 2 weeks)
At first I originally interviewed over the phone with comcast, and declined to go any further. About a month or so later I received a call from h.r. again asking if I was still interested. I figured I'd give it a shot. It took about a month for them to set a date for an interview. There were about 25-30 people that showed up. I don't know who they called, but I guess some people don't know what dress professional means.
So, we had a very brief information session about 20 minutes. The big hype was free cable and internet. Okay, granted a nice perk. But seriously it's only cable, some people need to relax about it.
They talk about averaging $20 per hour, and making approx. $40k per year. It doesn't add up at their 32 hour work week. What they don't tell you over the phone is that they HIGHLY encourage you to also work Sundays. That's 16 hours Sat, and Sun., for $40k that's ridiculous, and the only mathematical way to make $40k a year at $20 per hour. FYI, the base pay is $5 an hour, that a joke in itself.
Next I had an interview 1 on 1 with a supervisor. It went very well. I was told to wait about a half hour or so, as I did. I then interviewed with all three supervisors at once. This was kind of a joke. It only lasted about 7 minutes and their big thing was, "sell me a pen" so I did. I was told I would be contacted within a week and be informed of a decision. I never received a call. I am not upset about not getting the job, especially because it won't even really cover my bills, and the hours are kinda ridiculous for that pay. What I didn't like is that the h.r. rep called me almost once a week for about two months to get me interested and stay enticed, and they didn't even have the courtesy to do a follow up phone call or email to say thank you, but we've choose someone else. Instead they did nothing. Very unprofessional. If they called tomorrow I wouldn't take the job if they offered it for more money.
I have over 10 years experience in sales and have made a decent living at it. The only reason I interviewed with comcast is because the market hasn't been so good in certain industries and am currently seeking employment to pay may bills, I thought this would be an okay temporary job.

Comcast web page to apply is not user friendly unable to return once logged in. No assistance from customer service/help desk. You will receive an email asking to attend a presentation for 3 hours then given a contact and asked to return for interview. Contact was a no show my appointment at 1:30 pm, did not leave until 5pm met with Direct Sales Supervisor and MUS Supervisor with a list of 10 questions. Very rude answering there cell phone during the interview. Huge waste of time will not give you any feedback on the interview or how many jobs are available.

Interviewed Aug 2009 in Tinley Park, IL (took 2 days)
First the Human Resources manager (or whomever they designate to present the company's image) will call you for a GIS or Group Information Session. This is NOT an interview however they will ask you one or two questions, one of them being "Why would you be a good Comcast employee?" Next, if they decide that you might be what they are looking for they will call you and schedule a time for you to come in and take a personality test to "see if you fit for the position" or to weed you out. After this test they will administer another test which is a basic skills test. If you have passed the 6th grade you can pass this test however they do not give you a lot of time to do it in (for example, you have 10 minutes to complete the math portion which was comprised of roughly 36 questions). If you pass these two tests then you have an interview with the manager you first met at the GIS. They will ask you a few questions and hopefully you seem enthusiastic about this job because if you don't then they'll probably not give it to you. The HR person will more than likely size you up with their eyes and skim over your resume. They WILL ask questions about your prior experiences, both work-related and extracurricular, so if you lied on your resume then they will know quick. Afterwards then the "dude" will tell you that they have X amount of slots they have to fill for their class and will call you as soon as possible telling you whether or not they want you to come back for another interview with the next group of people (at this point I didn't get called back but my girlfriend did and she's telling me everything). Next you meet with the director or another manager and they explain how much you get paid and everything. At this point you're probably going to be selected but if you don't make the first interview then more than likely they will not call you. The HR guy who "said that he would call regardless if I was in or out" (I will not mention this man's name, but for hypothetical purposes we'll call him "Tom" but he works in the Tinley Park, IL office) never called me back after hyping me up for the position. If people such as "Tom" hype you up like this then start looking for another position. Also, it seemed that "Tom" was looking more at my girlfriend in a less than professional way in regards to his "sizing up" procedure so women, be weary. Wear very nice clothing women, it just may sway the male consideration of hiring you. If you want more insider information, please feel free to repost.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Oak Brook, IL (took 2 weeks)
Comcast's recruiters were very professional and sparked my interest in working for the company.
However, the Human Resources person who I had my 1:1 interview with, after a battery of tests and having made it through no less than 4 "cuts" whas terrible. She was cold, unfriendly, she was watching the clock, the questions she asked me came straight out of a HR101 textbook and she never looked me in the eyes during the interview. The worst part is that she did not ask me a single question about my past work experience and how it would relate to the position I was applying for. In fact I would bet that she didn't even read my resume. I had the feeling that the position was already promised to someone else, or filled and they were just "disposing" of the remaining candidates.
