      Customer Account Executive Interview

      Aug 5, 2009
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Tinley Park, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Comcast (Tinley Park, IL) in Aug 2009

      Interview

First the Human Resources manager (or whomever they designate to present the company's image) will call you for a GIS or Group Information Session. This is NOT an interview however they will ask you one or two questions, one of them being "Why would you be a good Comcast employee?" Next, if they decide that you might be what they are looking for they will call you and schedule a time for you to come in and take a personality test to "see if you fit for the position" or to weed you out. After this test they will administer another test which is a basic skills test. If you have passed the 6th grade you can pass this test however they do not give you a lot of time to do it in (for example, you have 10 minutes to complete the math portion which was comprised of roughly 36 questions). If you pass these two tests then you have an interview with the manager you first met at the GIS. They will ask you a few questions and hopefully you seem enthusiastic about this job because if you don't then they'll probably not give it to you. The HR person will more than likely size you up with their eyes and skim over your resume. They WILL ask questions about your prior experiences, both work-related and extracurricular, so if you lied on your resume then they will know quick. Afterwards then the "dude" will tell you that they have X amount of slots they have to fill for their class and will call you as soon as possible telling you whether or not they want you to come back for another interview with the next group of people (at this point I didn't get called back but my girlfriend did and she's telling me everything). Next you meet with the director or another manager and they explain how much you get paid and everything. At this point you're probably going to be selected but if you don't make the first interview then more than likely they will not call you. The HR guy who "said that he would call regardless if I was in or out" (I will not mention this man's name, but for hypothetical purposes we'll call him "Tom" but he works in the Tinley Park, IL office) never called me back after hyping me up for the position. If people such as "Tom" hype you up like this then start looking for another position. Also, it seemed that "Tom" was looking more at my girlfriend in a less than professional way in regards to his "sizing up" procedure so women, be weary. Wear very nice clothing women, it just may sway the male consideration of hiring you. If you want more insider information, please feel free to repost.

      Application

      I interviewed at Comcast

      Interview

First there was a phone interview with basic questions about simple technology things. Then, the on-site process was multiple sessions with different people, one right after the other. It was all very generic as they hire anyone who is not a felon.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Comcast (Tacoma, WA)

      Interview

First thing you do when you walk in is sign in (name & appt. time) then you'll sit and wait for the remaining people, approx. group of 8-10. Get there early so that you can get a seat, the are limited. You'll all walk to a room where with about 8 recruiters; someone presents the job and all the perks that come along with it. Once the person is done with the presentation the recruiters began calling the name of the person they are interviewing and if there are not enough recruiters you'll have to sit and wait. Once your done with the initial interview you will talk to another person who asks a two part question that I feel will make or break the decision to hire you or not and that is "Have you ever worked in a position that was based on sales? Was it commission based? They are not looking to TEACH you how to SALE their product and services so if you have not worked in a position in which one of your main responsibilities was to sale they most likely wont hire you, unless you can speak to them in a way that convinces them that you'll succeed.
