Interview Question for Associate Product Manager at Google:

So this is my understanding of the problem,
the sponsored site and ads which are displayed when we search something, is how google makes money for the ads. there are three modes of payment
1) The ad is shown
2) The user clicks the ad that is shown
3) The user does something useful by going to the ad website, make a sale or something. This is tracked by keeping a cookie.

now google wants an algorithm to maximize this, definetely they get the most money by step number 3. The hit ratio is like 1 percent to 2 percent very low, so the first thing we would like to is increase the hit ratio.

I dont how to come up with an algorithm but i can come up with a strategy. The strategy would be marketing , having more and more business to use Adwords and having more and more website to use Adsense.
