Management Role at Composite Software

No Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA – Reviewed Nov 26, 2012

Interview Details – After the telephone interview, I was called in person - so far so good.

When it comes to be interviewed by team the chief architect walked-in - didn't appear professional but intimidating - didn't say his name properly, nor business card despite I asked for it, and left with me no clue as to how to address him during the entire process.

In the interview with the hiring manager, I noticed his body language of wow when I answered a question. I was asked to wait but never received an offer.

Interview Question – The chief architect gave me a quiz and asked me to do it in given paper. Then he made it a bit more complex, which would make the earlier assumptions to change - as such it would have been proper to start all over in a fresh paper but didn't happen - I later realized this. He also came up with a new requirement which was not in the job desc.   Answer Question

UI Lead at Composite Software

No Offer – Interviewed in San Mateo, CA Oct 2009 – Reviewed Dec 12, 2009

Interview Details – I was contacted by recruiter first to understand my interests and experience. He presented my resume to hiring manager.

Next step was phone interview with HR manager. HR manager asked standard HR questions like;
- why are you looking for job?
- Do you know the technologies mentioned in the job description?

Next step was phone interview with hiring manager. It was non technical; discussions went around my experience.

Next step was 5 onsite 1:1 interviews. with backend engineer, two UI engineers, product manager, architect/hiring manager. First three were technical interviews.

I did well in first round so was called for one more round of on site inteviews. This time I again met the architect/hiring manager. Then met two UI engineers/architects and then the VP of engineering.

I believe I was not offered the job because they were looking for someone who has UI expertise in various UI technologies and not just one. That's my best guess.

Interview Question – VP of product management asked me a coding question which was really unexpected.   Answer Question
