Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
Performed phone interview with two managers asking technical questions on Active Directory, DNS, MainFrame, Windows shortcuts, DHCP and networking.
Second part was a two person face to face interview, that is more personal and they want a brief history about yourself. Past experiences dealing with customers, how to handle stressful situations, how to deal in a environment or working alone

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I applied for the position online about a month ago. A week later, I received a call to take a 6 part test for that following week. The 6 part test includes a written driving test, basic reading, basic math, comprehension, memory, and basic mechanical questions. The test was taken in a computer lab and the test was about 3 hours long. You had to pass all 6 parts.
After the 6 part test, there's the road test. The road test is very easy. They just want to see how well you can drive. It is not strict like the DMV. Once you pass the road test, then it's the interview.
The interview consists of 30 yes/no questions. You have to say yes to all of them to qualify because it applies to the job you are going for. The rest is behavioral and situational questions. There were two people in a conference room and they'll drill you with questions and they both will write down the answers. The interview is 30 minutes long. Most of your answers will be repetitive. They also want to know how you would use your previous job experience on the job you are applying for.
After the interview, they will forward the information to HR. You will not know if you passed the interview at that time. You should receive a phone call the following week to have a medical exam scheduled.
I was very nervous throughout the whole process, but overall, it was easy.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 3 months)
All interviews below the 3 band level are the same:
Optional Telephone interview to screen out excess applicants.
Depending on the # of positions available, they'll interview anywhere from 2 to 8 candidates.
The interview is a panel format with the hiring manager, another manager and a HR rep (a fourth person can be present but is seldom the case)
The first part of the interview is technical and directly related to the job. ( This is optional or brief for certain positions that are newly created or developmental in nature)
The next part is the behavioral questions, consists of 7 or 8 questions designed to test the preparedness of the applicant and their fit within the organization. They highlight the applicants ability to work in teams, to lead, to come up with new ideas, to change, and to understand the companies ethical code.
The whole process is anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours plus.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Brooklyn, NY (took a day)
Much like the other person that reviewed for the CSR position, you will go through two testing. First is the general career test that consist of 5 parts: a) general knowledge; b) comprehension & problem solving; c) numerical computation; and d) written expression e) perception, memory and concentration. It wasn't hard at all although you are given a time limit for each part. The second part of the testing is a computer coaching interview. Basically you are given scenarios of what can happen when a customer calls. You are given a headset and the computer records your response to each statement or question. Again, not hard and you have given more then enough time to complete this. The employees at this testing site were VERY professional. They answered all questions politely and made you feel very comfortable even though you were about to take a critical test.
Now onto the third and final part of the testing, the structured interview. This test consisted of 90% scenario questions. They have several sheets of paper with scenario questions and in total I would say about 30 questions and they would ask you for examples from either work, school or life. Unfortunately I did not qualify although I answered all of the questions in favor of customers while doing what was best for company. The two interviewers which consisted of a male and female, which I felt were unprofessional and several times during the interview, covered up there faces with the question papers and talked amongst themselves, giggling. They didn't even take a look at my resume or my work experience even though I have 4 years with customer service. You will only get one shot at this and if you fail, you cannot reapply for the CSR position ever again.
As a electrical engineer student, hoping to get my foot in the door and work on the field for Con Edison after I graduate in a year, I felt I was robbed of my chance and opportunity to work in this great company because of the two interviewers. All I can say is good luck to all of those who are going for the structured interview.
I would rate this interview process easy but due to the unprofessionalism that I have encountered during the third part of the interview I would have to rate this as difficult.

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took 5 months)
The phone Interview and the two person panel Interview were fairly situational, behavioral, and a brief technical interview. I was interview on the bases of my educational background, which was electrical engineering so the questions were fairly simple. Most technical questions was the distribution of electrical power and the known how.
After I passed the two interviews, I was ask to fill out the Hogan Personality assessment and depending on there you will be selected with a job offer or not. In my case I was declined an offer based on the assessment.
The whole process took 5 months. October was the first phone interview and beginning November was the on-site interview, then the abasement was on February so be prepare for the long wait time.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in New York, NY (took 3 months)
I was first contacted by email after applying through my school job postings. My first interview consisted of a 1:1 interview with a person who graduated from my school. She was really nice and everything went smoothly. The interview was supposed to last an hour but it only lasted about 30 minutes. It was a simple interview where i was asked about my skills, no curveballs. I was then contacted by phone by an HR representative and told that I moved on to the next interview. The second interview was with two engineers. This was a much tougher interview and it did last an hour. I was asked technical questions (basic Circuits 2). Also, the entire interview was mostly behavioral , which Con Edison really likes. After the interview, I was asked to answer "Why I would like to work for Con Ed and what do I bring to the table?"

Interviewed Dec 2010 (took 4 weeks)
I applied through Con Ed's career website. I was called for first round interview. I had one on one interview in December. The interview wasn't that hard. They have a booklet where they have questions and they ask accordingly. As you answer, they jot down your answer on that booklet. After 3 weeks, I was called for second round interview.
