Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 4+ weeks)
I received a call from a recruiter at ConAgra notifying me of the open position. She found me based on my LinkedIn profile and said she thought I would be a great match. She forwarded my information to the hiring manager who interviewed me over the phone. We then scheduled a day long interview where I spent an hour interviewing 1:1 with the hiring manager, two (2) Sales Directors, and the VP of Sales for the area. This interview was followed with a phone interview with a Marketing VP (the hiring manager's manager). The entire process was long, but very positive. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with everyone involved in the process.

Interviewed May 2010 in Naperville, IL (took 3 months)
The interview process was painful. The HR department was unreliable in providing accurate next steps. The interviewers were not prepared and were not aligned on the job responsibilities.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took a day)
After a general HR phone interview, in which I was asked what my education and training was, I received a phone interview. The interview did not seem to be related to the advertised position. The interviewer mainly focused on questions relating to how many people I had managed and how I managed disagreements on teams I've been on. It was interesting that there was no discussion about problems solving skills, food science, or how I've lead projects.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Omaha, NE (took 5 days)
Interview process with company recruiter was good, to the point, friendly, and efficient. Phone interview with the manager was challenging as they both used SAR method. Situation, Action, and Results. You must know your numbers and your metrics. Failure to not know this or be able to explain them will not get you to the next round. Be prepared for metrics that are important to them from you previous jobs.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Omaha, NE (took 1 week)
The interview process was very positive and enjoyable. The University website criteria for candidate selection did not allow me to apply for this position. However, after contacting the recruiter directly, I was asked to come and see her during a career fair later on in the week. After sending her my resume and coverletter, and talking to her in person, the recruiter put me on the interview schedule. On the interview day, another candidate and I who were waiting in the waiting room were taken together to a room where two recruiters sat. This initial contact was designed for us to ask as many questions as possible and clarify all the details of the position before the next interviews. The next step involved two back to back 30 minute interviews. The first was with a recently hired employee. This one had a few behavioral based questions, but the interviewer seemed pretty happy to be there, so it was no problem responding with enthusiasm. The second interview was with a hiring manager, and involved only one or two very open ended questions where I was asked to talk about my experiences overall. I found all of the people involved to be very friendly, courteous, and down to earth, and generally people that I could work with. I suppose my inability to progress beyond this stage was a lack of experience for a rigerous three year long employment committment, as I am sure many MBA candidates were also in the running.
