Interviewed Nov 2009 in New York, NY (took a day)
I was the only candidate as I had interned at this particular publication and was recommended by several of the staff members. They had me sit down with the fashion director as well as the managing editor to make sure that i was serious and dedicated and then they hired me on the spot.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
The day after I submitted my application the advertising director reached out to me directly via email to set up an interview. She asked questions unrelated to the job in an effort to measure my fit. When getting ready to leave, she asked how she got my resume. She had no idea. She told me that she was going to set up an interview with HR but never did so. When I requested the information to set the meeting up with HR myself, she never responded.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
Applied online, got a call from an HR representative a few days later to set up an interview. I couldn't get to New York, so we arranged a phone interview. The interview itself was focused on my experience on previous projects, with not a lot of generic "what's your greatest weakness"-type questions. She also asked about my thoughts on the company's magazines, which was my favorite, and why. Very personable, friendly, and low-stress.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 2 days)
I made a phone call to the person I thought should seem resume and she kindly gave me her e-mail. Then I sent her the e-mail straight away and I got a phone call from HR the same day. The interview was really a great experience and the HR person was very kind. I am waiting to hear back from them.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 1+ week)
First you meet with someone form HR and then they will place you with different magazines that are hiring. I first interviewed with two other magazines at conde before landing my current job. The HR staff is so helpful and didnt give up on me which I really appreciated. It made me feel good that they thought I was good enough to work for Conde Nast.

Interviewed Jan 2007 (took 2 months)
Fairly standard. Met with HR first and then several higher ups and then the head of the department. I think interviews may be different depending on the department and hiring manager.

Interviewed Mar 2008 (took 1 week)
Applied from online posting. Went through phone interview with several people, which was very encouraging; the right sort of questions were asked and I felt able to answer them. It was good dealing with people who were knowledgeable technically and not just answering generic recruiter questions. The in-person interview seemed more of a formality; I was fairly certain I was going to be offered a position, and enjoyed meeting the people I spoke with.
