Interviewed Nov 2011 in Laurel, MD (took 4+ weeks)
Turnover his constant at this company, and they have hiring quotas, but they won't hire someone who seems unintelligent. They look for sharp people who LIKE overtime - lots of it.

Interviewed Apr 2012 (took a day)
I first found out about Consolidated Graphics at my campus' job fair. I met with two friendly recruiters who were actually in the Leadership Development Program themselves. After talking with them, I scheduled an on-campus interview with them later in the month. At the on-campus interview, I was 1:1 with a LDP Associate and she asked me the very basic interview questions. After I nailed the interview, I received an email the following day that informed me that I had qualified for an on-site interview. I chose to interview at a company in Maryland as it was closest to me. At the on-site interview I had a series of interviews (1:1 with operations manger and a panel interview with other LDP Associates).

Reason for Declining
I declined to continue with the hiring process because I was not satisfied with what the company had to offer. The location of the job was terrible, the compensation was extremely low, even for an entry-level job, and the benefits were almost non-existent.

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Durham, NC (took 2 weeks)
I interviewed first through my university, then was flown out to the Durham location after I expressed interest in relocating to North Carolina. The associates were very nice and when they picked me up from the airport and made me feel very comfortable and seemed excited that I was there. During the interview, the hiring managers seemed very disorganized in their questions and didn't have a clear path as to where the interview was supposed to go. They seemed very pleasant but had a hard time answering my questions about the company.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Dallas, TX (took 3 weeks)
The two recruiters I spoke with were very nice and helpful in the interview process. They were both still within the LDP phase themselves, but were very knowledgeable about the company, which conveyed to me the effectiveness of the LDP. The organizational culture seems relaxed and centered around teamwork, and made me feel valuable with the time and training they were willing to invest in me. Relevant work experience should be your most important consideration when it comes to working for consolidated graphics. Experience and hard work is definitely what i plan to get out of this job in order to be competitive in the future.

Negotiation Details
From what I've heard they don't negotiate on salary. The recruiter told me that they are basically paying for you to learn all about the commercial printing business from the ground up the first 3 years. I believe that once they feel like you've learned everything that is required in order to start making contributions to their company, thats when you should expect to realize some kind of raise and/or promotion.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Columbia, SC (took 1+ week)
Not a bad interview, most of it is situational quesitons, and the interviewers telling you about the company, and what exactly you will be doing. Want potential employees to know it is a hard working enviroment with opportunity, but hard work first.

Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
My interviewer was over 15 minutes late to a 30 minute interview. She continued to state how frustrated she was that other people made her late and took no responsibility. Then I felt like she was convincing me out of the job because I was over qualified. It was all very strange. I was offered a follow up interview, but have not pursued it due to the lack of professionalism in the interview.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 1+ week)
I submitted my resume and received an email the following day requesting a phone interview. The phone interview was your typical phone interview with the basic questions. Be sure to have answers to why Consolidated Graphics, why the print industry, why you, and which region/city you'd like to work in.
About 4 days after, I was sent another email asking me to come in for an onsite interview. I scheduled it and went in. The interview was very easy, a panel of the associates, tour on the site, interviews with some managers. Easy questions about my resume and a few personality questions. Part of the rotation is in the printing room (manufacturing). I was asked if I could see myself working in manufacturing.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Medford, OR (took 1 week)
I was interviewed by someone else in the Leadership Development Program that is currently located in Washington D.C. He was extremely friendly and great to talk to. He forwarded my info to a local company that they own and I am going for a 1:1 interview this week. Most of the interview was him talking about the program.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
The interview process kicked off with a phone call from a second year associate -- someone who typically has no formal training in interview-best-practices. During the interview, this inexperienced associate actually put me on hold so he could re-read the questions he was supposed to ask me. After stuttering through several behavioral questions (ie, "tell me about a time when"), the inept interviewer attempted to answer questions I fielded for him. His answers were unorganized and barely coherent. After hearing several of these botched answers, I let him know that while I had enjoyed speaking with him, I was going to have to let him get going as I had other obligations to attend to. Indeed, I ended the interview.
The second part of the interview process involved a group-rotation in-person interview. Essentially, 2nd/3rd year associates took turns speaking with me about my past work experiences, interests, and other unrelated topics. Some of the associates were very professional; others were less so. For all intents and purposes, it was an interview to determine personality fit. The only interviewer who asked real questions was the VP. After waddling into the room, she proceeded to scrutinize my resume and she then attempted to ask pointed/loaded questions. I gave mildly sarcastic answers, intentionally using large words where they were clearly not necessary. Strangely enough, she seemed to like my answers. Overall, the interview process is somewhat of a joke. Assuming you have at least mediocre qualifications, are capable of answering behavioral questions with the STAR technique, and can act somewhat normal, you will most likely be an ideal candidate.
