I applied online. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Correctional Medical Services in April 2010.

Hiring process is made difficult with the needing clearance from the department of corrections. HR talks to you first. Then you interview with SR management who are so desperate to get a body in the job that they don't tell you everything needed to make an informed decision. Worst mistake I ever made starting with this company

    Application Details

I applied through other source – interviewed at Correctional Medical Services in March 2009.

    Interview Details

Initial contact was made by the CMS Administrator at which time an interview was facilitated. It was a thorough yet nonintimidating interview which initially included the Administrator and myself only. I was then escorted to the Mental Health Unit where I was interviewed by the Unit Director, a mental health nurse, as well as the CMS Administrator. I was then given a tour of the entire correctional facility and allowed the opportunity to ask questions. I was hired within one week of the interview and began work almost immediately.

    Interview Questions
    • Provide a situation within your work experience where you made to feel uncomfortable with a colleague. Being somewhat younger and less experienced at the time, I had limited negative encounters with former colleagues.   View Answer

I understood from the onset of hire that the position was somewhat entry level for a Master's level "Mental Health Worker." Due to the opportunity to achieve an exposure to a clinical experience that has set a strong foundation for my career, I was most flattered to be granted this rewarding experience. Due to my performance, my position was promoted to "Mental Health Professional," and my salary more than doubled during my tenure with CMS.
