Interviewed Aug 2010 in San Marcos, CA (took 3 weeks)
After applying online, you wait. Then if you qualify, you are called in for a first interview.
1st interview-
They call and ask you to come in. You meet with 3 managers, all of which ask you the interview questions. The managers vary in ranking. They will be an assistant warehouse manager, and 2 managers from the department you're applying to. Questions were meant to analyze you're professionalism and how and what you know about the company, and why you are interested in working there. The interview lasted about half an hour. If they like you, they'll call you in 2-3 days asking you to come in a second interview.
2nd interview- This interview is set up the same way as the first. A one on three interview. The managers, which are different from the first set, ask you about your work ethic and how well you would preform in certain situations. Again, If they like you, they will call you in for a third interview.
3rd interview - A new set of managers ask you about the same questions asked in interviews 1 and 2. Very short. They offer you a position and ask you to come in for orientation.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took a day)
I walked in the door and asked the supervisor who was standing there where I should wait for the person I was scheduled to meet. He asked what it was for and I told him I was being interviewed. He got a pained expression on his face and directed me to a bench on the other side of the room. I sat there for five minutes past my scheduled interview time, got nervous, and told the person at the desk that I had an interview. He called the person I was supposed to see who told him she would be five minutes more. The interviewer showed up and led me into a room where we sat at a table. I had applied for two positions so I asked which position I was interviewing for. The interviewer explained the job, the hours and the pay and asked if I had any questions. I asked about OT and benefits. Then the interviewer went to find another supervisor to continue the interview. The interviewer returned shortly and said that the other supervisor was busy and couldn't come to the interview. The interviewer then informed me that I would be notified either that afternoon or the next day. Two days later I got a letter stating that the job had gone to someone else.
Having read many descriptions of typical Cosco interviews, this experience left me with the impression that I was not considered a serious candidate for the job. And while it left me with an unfavorable impression, I would still like to work at Costco, the place is always humming and I enjoy being engaged and busy. Maybe next time.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Union, NJ (took 3 days)
Company called me for a first interview....met with most of the supervisors pretty quickly...remember I got hired during the holiday season which is actually the best time to try to get a job at costco....at the end of the interview they give you an on site drug test (mouth swab) that they administer in the office....basically if you pass that and the background check you're in....

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Seattle, WA (took 2 days)
I applied online but had a sibling who works for costco talk to the hiring manager, and she called me within minutes of hearing I applied. Costco is definitely the place where you need to either A. have an inside connection or B. Call or visit the store to talk directly to the manger in order to score an interview. I went in for my interview and they give everyone three different interviews but they decided to do a 2 in 1. Basic questions of why pick Costco and the standard scenario questions were asked. They also ask to see if you're able to accept some of the hard physical labor involved with being employed there. PS. They are big on customer service, even when the customer is dead wrong. My third interview was good, they asked the same questions essentially, it literally took 5 minutes.
Afterwards, i did a drug test with a cotton swab in the mouth. Then was told to report to work the next week. Simple as that :)

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Mount Laurel, NJ (took a day)
I applied online for the position. After a week or two they brought me in for an interview. The interview was with two of the managers there at the store that I ended up working with the next two years while on breaks from school. They were very easy to deal with and asked pretty basic questions about my life. A few days later they offered me a job.

Interviewed Oct 2008 (took 1 week)
My local Costco had a job fair as they were looking to hire seasonal workers for the holidays. I interviewed with two different supervisors. The questions were very generic, more about team specific things and how you value customer service and what not. After this interview, I went to meet with the store manager who talked to me for 10 minutes and told me what he expected of me. I then had a drug test and after the drug test results, they gave me my hours. It was a pretty smooth process.
