    Interview

I applied for the position online. I got an email from a recruiter for scheduling a phone interview. They asked me many STAR questions. I was told that it would take about 7 to 10 business day to hear about on-site interview. They also asked me basic questions, such as education, salary desire, starting date, previous job experiences etc.

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Covance (Indianapolis, IN) in August 2014.

    Interview

I got a call from HR asking the routine questions followed by a 30 min phone interview with the director. They were both friendly and professional. Then I was invited to onsite interview. I started with meeting with the same manager, then a 45 min presentation, meeting with the group and 3-4 phone interviews with people in other locations. This was the hard part! The questions were not easy and there were tons of behavioral questions. I was confident that I will get an offer soon because of their positive feedback. They never got back to me despite my follow ups. 2 month later they said the position went on hold but if it re-opens, I would be the one who is going to get hired. 5 month later, they reached me out saying if I am still interested. I said "yes". The same unresponsiveness started over again for 5 weeks. Then they said because several months has gone by since the onsite interview, they would like to interview more people. Why did they contact me again then?!!! Very unprofessional...... Now I am happy that they did not make me an offer because when I look back, I realize that I really do not want to work for such a company and director. Also, I am glad I did not get that job because only few months later, I got 2 offers from 2 companies located in much nicer places and ~20% more salary.

    DART Study Technician/Greenfield, IN Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Greenfield, IN
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Covance (Greenfield, IN) in July 2014.

    Interview

First, I was sent an e-mail requesting for a phone interview. They asked me to post two times that would work best for me for an interview. They said to allow approximately 30 minutes for the phone interview.
When I was called for the phone interview, they asked a couple of behavioral based questions. They of course will ask you how you feel about animal testing, and if you are affiliated with PETA or any other animal rights group. The one behavioral question that I remember her asking me was "Tell me about a time that you worked as a team, and tell me what your role was in that team."
The questions definitely require some thinking, but don't get choked up thinking you have to answer right away, They send you an e-mail before your interview to let you know that the interviewer doesn't expect an immediate answer, it's okay to take some time to think about the question and come up with a good response.
After the phone interview it took about two weeks and I was e-mailed to set up an on-site interview. At the on-site interview, they asked A TON of behavioral questions and the interview lasted about an hour. I did feel very comfortable with the two interviewers I had. They were very nice and I was able to joke around with them a little bit which helped me relax. They told me that I would hear back with an answer in about 3-4 weeks. 5 weeks went by and I didn't hear anything, so I went ahead and e-mailed the interviewers and then they promptly sent me an e-mail letting me know that they had chosen another candidate.

    Interview Questions

    • There were a ton of difficult and unexpected questions. I advise everyone to look up some sample behavioral questions to get your mind brewing on situations that have occurred during your work experiences.   Answer Question

Initial communication was very poor. Interviewer seemed to know nothing about the position I was being interviewed for. They also seemed to not know anything about the company either.

    Sample Handling Assistant Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Indianapolis, IN
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Covance (Indianapolis, IN) in May 2012.

    Interview

I applied online and was referred by a current employee. I received a call from an HR rep from Covance for a short phone interview 1-3 days later. They asked general questions about why I applied, what I was doing currently for employment, etc. Also asked opinion on animal testing and if affiliated with an animal rights group. After phone screen, was told I would hear back in the next couple days (applied for a different position once with Covance, and it took 10 business days to get a rejection email). Heard back very soon and was offered an on-site interview. Was a panel interview and asked 6 Target Selection questions (situation, how you handled it, and result). Wanted very specific answers and examples. Mostly dealt with customer service situations. The two guys interviewing me were nice and made me comfortable, so it wasn't horrible.I had several questions for them prepared prior to interview, and I think that helped. Then I was given a tour of the lab (where I'd be working). After that was told it would be 2-4 business days to hear back, but was called the next business day with the job offer. I accepted.

    Interview Questions

    • Describe a situation where, despite all your efforts and giving the customer what they said they wanted, the customer still was not satisfied.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Wasn't really given an opportunity to negotiate. If you wanted to negotiate, you'd have to be very proactive and forward about it.
