Interviewed Nov 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 2 days)
The interview was a series of questions on how I would handle certain situations. There were a number of questions. That was during the first interview. Then I was interviewed a second time with more questions. They really keep me on my toes. I've never had so many questions thrown at me during an interview. I can see how it is good for them-it helps weed out people who might not be passionate about getting a job there.

Interviewed May 2011 in Northbrook, IL (took 1 week)
I got the interview through a staffing agency. The interview consisted of a phone screen which mostly confirmed what was on my resume and a face to face interview a few days later. I met with two people at once, one higher up and one senior developer. The face to face interview wasn't bad, but it was one of my first interviews and I sort of looked foolish not having an answer to "What do you bring to the table that no one else does?".
They said they'd get back to me by the end of the week. The guy I was working with at the staffing agency reached out to them to get feedback but never got any. I interviewed with them on a Tuesday and I accepted another offer the next Monday without hearing anything back.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in New York, NY (took 2 days)
Walk-in applicant. I got an email and a phone interview. I was asked to explain why I want to work there? What other experience do I have? What can I bring to the company? I was scheduled an in-person interview. I met the hire manager, who asked me several questions. I was asked questions and then I gave my questions. The interview lasted 35 minutes! It went well.
I researched the company's 'about us"
They do a 2nd interview if they want you, that is what i have next.
I was asked first "Tell me about yourself, your experience"
"How would you deal with a angry customer"
"My retail experience"
"How would I describe myself in 3 words"
Most of it carried on from my personal answers.
It was very extensive.

Interviewed Oct 2008 (took a day)
Professional manner, done in the store. Easy conversation, discussed mutual interests, places we had lived and what brought us to the current area. Substance of the interview was direct regarding customer service and overall sales. Since it was a part time position, no benefits were discussed. Prior retail experience didn't seem to be necessary although as a former buyer for a major retailer it sure is/was helpful with the local customer base.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Troy, MI (took 1 week)
I filled the application out - turned it in, got a call.
I arrived early and ended up waiting about 10 mins. I dressed professionally, it seemed appropiate. I haven't had any sales experience before, so that was probably not good. I found out that they were hiring specifically for kitchen ware which I also didn't know too much about really. I don't think I was really prepared as I could have been.
They did send me a very nice letter though. Even if it was a rejection letter, it was nice.

Interviewed Mar 2007 in Northbrook, IL (took 2 days)
I got an interview via an employee referral. This interview was for a position at their corporate office in Northbrook IL. The first step of the interview process consisted of me going to their office and taking a position related quiz and submitting a writing/composition sample. I then met with the manager of the department along with a couple of potential co-workers. It was a very casual interview experience, and everyone was extremely pleasant.
About a week later I got a call to come back for a 2nd interview with upper management. Apparently almost everyone that interviews for a position at corporate, are interviewed by upper management. In my case it was with the CIO and a senior director. This phase of the interview process was 1:1 (about an hour with each person), and started out with a grand tour of their headquarters.
I have to say that out of all my interview experiences, the one at C&B was my most memorable thus far. I wasn't vying for a management position, yet here the CIO was giving me a tour of their facility. I was very impressed to say the least that someone at that level would take the time to interview someone at my level. If you think their stores are gorgeous, the corporate HQ is no exception. The "cubicles" were all large and entirely made of glass and maple wood. The office space had high loft ceilings and very large windows. They even have a visual merchandise staff that changes colored wall panels with the seasons. The corporate office was something out of a catalog, beautiful!
