Interviewed Jan 2010 in Tokyo (took a day)
Found a post on CL and sent my resume. Turned out to be Fusion Systems, whose consultants work for different compoanies. First, there was a phone conversaion with an HR person. Then they forgot about me for a while, I reminded about myself by email, and they invited me to come to the consulting company's office, asked more about my skills. Gave me a choice, one out of three paper tests: C++, Java, Csharp. I had only been doing CSharp recently, and ''ve had no time to prepare for any interviews ( a stable period of employment for the previous 3 years, never searched for a job, so, only needed to know what was indeed applicable to the occupied position) I took CSharp, and said I would attempt C++. Did both in the time allocated to one, and it was successful. The next day, they invited me to an interview at client's site, but didn't tell me anything else. No client name, no information about what the subject will be etc, absolutely nothing.
The client turned out to be CSFB, but I only talked to Fusion System's people, and they were asking advanced questions mostly about C++, but one or two questions about CSharp and Java.
I was able to answer a few question, but , of course, I didn't prepare and didn't remember something.
The people were nice, but I don't understand the company (FS). The hiring manager later sent an email "we will be in touch if we have any opportunities for you", to which I replied with a polite email which asked the hiring manager if he remembers his previous phone number at his previous place of residence that he has been using every day in the past , but doesn't use it currently anymore. And can he remember it without looking at his notes. :) I'll update you if he replies anything
