Interviewed Nov 2011 in Raleigh, NC (took a day)
I originally located the IB Operations - Analyst - Fixed Income position on Doostang, but I applied via the Credit Suisse (CS) website. I was subsequently contacted over the phone by a CS "Talent Acquisition Specialist" located in New York City (NYC). He did a short 5 minute screening on why I wanted to work for CS. A few days later I received an email from a Coordinator to schedule a number of interviews. I applied to only one position, but I was considered for two...
IB Operations - Analyst - Fixed Income:
2.5 hrs of phone interviews with 3 Analysts, 1 Assistant Vice President, 1 Vice President
IB Operations - Analyst - Cross Product Settlements:
1.5 hrs of phone interviews with 1 Analyst, 1 AVP, 1 VP
All of these interviews were squeezed into one day at my request. "Coordinator" was kind and able to work around my current job schedule. She was easily reachable and responded quickly to emails and phone calls.
Positions were both located in Raleigh, NC, but some of the interviews were with AVP or VP's from the New York City office. All interviews were done individually (1:1) over the phone via a dial-in 800 number. Questions for both interviews were essentially the same. Here are some of the questions for the Cross Product Settlements position.
Interviews were conducted on a Wednesday between 9am and 2pm PST.
Analyst:
He mostly described the position to me and gave a good background of the firm.
Tell me a little about yourself.
AVP:
Why Credit Suisse?
Why Operations?
Why do you want to relocate to Raleigh?
Tell me about a time when you showed client service skills.
Tell me about a time when you were in a group with a person who did not want to work as a team, and how did you deal with the situation?
Who is more important to you, the architect or the builder?
How well do you know Excel? (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced? (See description below)
Beginner - You can open a spreadsheet, add some cells, subtract, etc.
Intermediate - You can use SUM, IF statements, VLOOKUP, Write formulas, etc.
Advanced - You can do the above but also write/edit/troubleshoot Macros
VP:
Tell me about a time when you completed an assignment that didn't benefit yourself.
Tell me about a time when you were treated unfairly and how you dealt with it.
Tell me about a time when you dealt with someone who was very difficult to work with.
Received a call Friday from a CS recruiter in Raleigh I had never spoken with. She described the following...
The Offer:
40,000 USD base salary
Half-time over time (approx. $9/hr for all work done over 40hrs)
Bonus eligible (5-8% of base salary)
15 days paid vacation
11 paid holidays
12 sick days
Health Care: Blue Cross/Blue Shield
401(k) (with up to $3,000/yr matching)
Cafeteria (Necessary given the building's physical location)

Interviewed May 2010 in Research Triangle Park, NC (took 2 weeks)
I got a call from HR asking for setting up a time for first round of interview.
I had 3 rounds of interview. Luckily all telephonic interviews as I far away from the office location.
1st Interview was done by technical manager who did 30 minutes of interview with both technical and behavioral questions. Both technical and behavioral questions were good and manager accessed me through them. He told me they will do another round of interview.
The 2nd interview was all technical in Java and .NET. The manager was architect and grilled me well with all the practical scenarios and coding question and few behavioral. It went for 1 hr.
The 3rd one mix of both technical and behavioral and it went for 1 hr.
You need to know your technical stuff and answer behavioral questions well. The interviewers are very qualified people and analyze candidates quickly and well. You need to be prompt in answering and to the point answer as they don't have whole day for you.
Don't reschedule or cancel your interview or try to give answers to the best of your knowledge.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Cary, NC (took 2+ weeks)
All interview questions were completely behavioral although this was an IT position in The RTP,NC site. The position is for a technical analyst. First was a phone interview, then there was an on-campus 1 on 1 interview with a senior manager. Then there was a superday (from 10 am - 5:30 pm.) On this day, we were introduced to the site, the head of the tech side at the site, a little introduction to the company.
Then, we had to make a group presentation in front of 4-5 managers / VPs and they gave us about 45 mins to plan and about 10-15 mins to execute. I think this was very abstract and we could twist it around whichever way we wanted. Managers were very relaxed and friendly.
Then, we all gathered in a room to get lunch and at some point all the managers came in to introduce themselves and grab some free lunch. Kidding! It was more of a candidate gauge kind of thing!
After this was 1/2 hour interviews with 4 separate managers so that they could determine if you would be a good fit for their team and so on and so forth.
That's the end of the day and they give you a small tour before they walk you out!
I really liked one HR lady in particular along with a VP and the Director of the site was very motivational too!
Good culture exhibited and I would love to work with them if given a chance.
Hope this helps

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Raleigh, NC (took 2 days)
I interviewed for the Summer IT Analyst position. The first on-campus interview was really relaxed. It consisted of two employees (one manager and one technical analyst). It was a thirty minute conversation about my past jobs and my skills. They pretty much tried to gauge their interest in you, nothing too difficult. The second interview was an all day event called "Super Day" where you participate in tons of interviews. Breakfast with managers from most of the groups, then three thirty minute interviews over the course of the day. There's also a group project that you and 4-5 others have to create and present all in thirty minutes.

Interviewed Aug 2009 in Raleigh, NC (took a day)
I spoke with an HR rep on the phone. I graduated with an MBA from Carnegie Mellon in May, 2008. I interviewed for a credit analyst role. She asked me some general questions about my resume and how I've arrived to the point where I have applied for the job. She wanted to know how much modeling experience I had. She asked what the most complicated function in MS Excel I knew about. She told me on the phone that there were many "plug and play" candidates (her words); many people have been laid off and are qualified for such a role. She wrote back several weeks later after I followed up with her and was very complimentary but declined to offer me the job or another interview.

Interviewed May 2009 in Durham, NC (took 2 weeks)
Difficult to get into the company directory. Linked In has a number of potiential contacts if you have the right contacts. Credit Suisse is a large organization with many parts. Knowing someone on the inside will be a big help.
Good interview fair and reasonable questions.
