I interviewed through college or university. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Cummins in November 2013.

They came across my resume HENAAC in New Orleans. I was contacted while the conference was going on and asked if I was interested in an interview the following day. The interview was kind of how you make it. I am a technical person so I steered towards a technical interview. The person interviewing me just to happened to be interested in the same things as I was. Overall it was a no pressure interview where they really just wanted to get to know me and if I would fit well.

I interviewed through a recruiter. The process took a day - interviewed at Cummins in April 2014.

    Interview Details

I was contacted by a recruiter about a contract position with Cummins Filtration. The position required a working knowledge of Pro/E Creo. I interview in person and was shown a presentation about what the facility did, and I was shown an example of the type of projects I would be working on if I were to be hired. They asked me about my experience with Pro/E. I also described a design project I worked on in some detail. There weren't many behavioral interview questions. That might have been because it was a contract position that needed to be hired asap to do mostly modeling. After my interview I was given a part to model in Creo. The engineer and the HR individual who interviewed me were amicable.

    Interview Questions
    • I was given an injected molded part and a caliper, and I was asked to model it to the best of my ability in a 30 minute period.   Answer Question

I interviewed online. The process took 5 months - interviewed at Cummins in February 2014.

    Interview Details

Applied in October through the online portal. Was contacted in Feb of the next year. The first round was a simple HR round with general behavioral questions. The second round was more technical. I did not apply for the position they interviewed me for and I really dont understand their policy of interviewing people for positions they have no idea about. I could not answer the questions properly and was sent the reject letter the day after the interview.

    Interview Questions
    • None. The questions were typical questions related to that field and could have been answered by any professional who has decent technical knowledge.   Answer Question

Had my first round interview a month ago. It was basically behavioural questions. One questions got me--Describe a situation when you had to deal with a difficult person. Others were just basic questions like introduce yourself, what department you would like to work for, etc. I'm having my second round interview tomorrow. Hopefully everything goes well!

The process was long, but worth it. I first had a 1v1 interview at my college's career fair. I was contacted 2-3 weeks later for a phone interview. A week after the phone interview I began having back and forth E-mail conversations with HR. 3 weeks after my phone interview I was given an official offer.
