No Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Apr 2012 – Reviewed May 7, 2013
Interview Details – Fair. They flipped on me. First claimed that they wanted a Technical Lead, then turned me down for not being more "managerial". Excuses excuses... But I did not see a single person with grey hair, not one, in 3 hrs of roaming the campus.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Jan 2012 – Reviewed Mar 27, 2013
Interview Details –
Called in for multiple informal interviews with manager. He just gauged my personality and work ethic.
Interviewed with team members to evaluate my technical skills.
Was contacted weeks later by HR and had to meet with the rep. After agreeing on a salary a date was set for me to start.
On my first day I went to a welcome training that went over company policy and had us sign all the paper work. We then received our badges and reported to our manager.
It took a couple weeks before the team started giving me real work to do.
Interview Question – The unexpected was the lack of difficult questions. Everything was very surface level. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Originally offered a really low amount. Countered and explained my experience level and why I should get more. Settled on a number just below my counter offer.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Sep 2009 – Reviewed Mar 10, 2013
Interview Details – I was initially contacted by a DIRECTV recruiter. I had a simple phone conversation to tell me about the position and an interview was set up. I had one interview with the person I would be reporting to. It was very casual but long. I spoke a bit about my previous positions. We spent a lot of time talking about our personal interests. Over all it was pleasant and easy.
Interview Question – I was not asked a difficult question. Mainly questions about my previous experience. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was offered the job on the spot. We didn't speak about pay right away, I talked to the recruiter about pay over the phone the following day. I was happy with the initial offer and accepted.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Apr 2009 – Reviewed Jan 19, 2013
Interview Details – The hiring and interview process are at par and as fair as any other major corporation, with multiple interviews spanning a length of a day. Although no hands-on quizzes were given, the interview questions were all aligned and in sync with the job requirements that were provided. No "wrenches" or curve balls were thrown but some great questions that test one's outlooks (with no right or wrong answers) were a part of the interview process. Hiring packets and orientation were more than accommodating and any prospective employee would have a sense of accomplishment even at the outset of starting.
Interview Question – None was given. All questions were fair and to the point. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – The offer was more than expected so no negotiation was required.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Sep 2009 – Reviewed Jan 6, 2013

Negotiation Details – there was none, I accepted
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Mar 2011 – Reviewed Oct 20, 2012
Interview Details – The interview was very straightforward. I was taken into a conference room and interviewed by a panel of three employees, two of which were department heads. Each of them asked me two questions, relating to physics, math, and computer science. The questions weren't simple, and they weren't easy to answer directly, especially the question that was asked that didn't have a definitive answer. The idea was that I could figure something out and explain to them the process of my solution, instead of just the answer.
Interview Question – How do you measure the weight of a plane while it is flying? Answer Question
No Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Apr 2012 – Reviewed May 16, 2012
Interview Details – Recruited by agency for a permanent position after the staffing firm located my IT career profile online. The initial screening took place by phone with the agency whereas the interview with DirecTV consisted of a face-to-face meeting with the Latin American Group manager. The job description included network, database, scripting, Unix and Linux experience, with Spanish-language a "must" or a "plus" depending on which job description I read. I indicated at the time of the recruitment that I had some of the desired skills but not all of them (including the Spanish language requirement). It was conveyed that this would not be a problem and that some training would be possible. I chose to interview for the position because it would represent an expansion of my existing skill set, while solidly within my range of 15+ years of experience in other aspects. I was told that there were three people interviewing for two positions that were in urgent need of being filled in the coming week or two. I interviewed and after three weeks I learned that I had not made the cut based upon aspects of my resume which I had already indicated I did not have but was willing and able to learn.

Interview Details – I applied online and received an email from HR saying they'd like to set up a phone interview. The supervisor that interviewed me seemed busy, did some routine questions, why are you interested in this position, what do you know about our company, etc. lasted less than half an hour. I didn't get a great of feeling but I received an offer letter about a week later.
Interview Question – What skills do you think you'd bring to this position? Answer Question
No Offer – Interviewed in El Segundo, CA Nov 2011 – Reviewed Mar 24, 2012
Interview Details – Interviewed the with Director of the department and two of his analysts. Interview lasted about 1.5 hours. I didn't receive an offer, but I have nothing but positive thoughts about the team. They were all extremely bright, knew their industry and positions very well and had detailed plans of where they were going. This is a competitive company in a competitive industry, so bring you A game.
Interview Question – I can't recall a specific question, but they were all appropriately technical and complex Answer Question
