Interviewed Apr 2012 (took a day)
Fairly straightforward. I was applying for a general financial internship position but was clearly not interested in the program they were touting. When asked about my financial experience I was quick to narrate my skills but the HR lady had no idea what I was talking about. At that point the other guy who was interviewing me started asking technical questions, which I was not ready for. Go in prepared, do not baffle them with bull as we tend to do when getting nervous.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Englewood, CO (took 4 months)
The IQ test required by Dish is one of the hardest tests I have ever taken; however, as an applicant, this happens fairly quickly. Everything after that takes patience. I tested in March. I had my first live interview in late April and was offered an initial position in May. I was not interested in the position offered and in June I was brought in to interview for a different position. After several more months I was offered that position.
Reason for Declining
I had extensive interviews with clear salary requirements; however, the offered salary was significantly less than my requirements.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test and a Personality Test.

Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 4+ weeks)
Overall the process was very transparent. I felt that the company was very competitive internally, and that the politics were not for the faint of heart. The offer was reasonable, but not competitive with other offers I received. The reasoning behind a lower offer was that "the experience was worth the lower offer". I'm not sure I buy that argument.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Farmers Branch, TX (took 5 days)
Skills test and personality test first. Tests online. Then if they are interested they will set up an initial phone interview. Next step is a one on one interview with at least the Installation Manager and possibly the GM of that area. Ifa mutual agreement is reached on employment then drug testing and background checks.
You better have a clean driving record, driving skills and quality are VERY important to DIsh with good reason, we are a moving billboard on the streets.
The office is a typical office, clean and has all needed equipment. Personalities of management and techs are very positive. Work culture is different from a lot of companies. Dish is focused on performance, very focused on quality (we have a QAS manager who randomly checks your jobs very thoroughly) and safety of employees with weekly training updates. There is a tendency to micro manage to some degree, but if you can perform well and have a POSITIVE attitude the managers will go out of their way to support you and let you work with out too much oversight.

The pays is set in two of the offices in North Texas. There is a low hourly pay during training and probation period of 90 days. The work pay in two of the NTex offices is a performance based pay (reason is complex) rather than hourly. The method of computation is based on metrics which are rather cryptic and complicated. You can make a good salary if you are a fast, QUALITY oriented, safe worker and have or can develop great customer skills. You must be flexible and non judgmental and have respect for customers from a wide background.

Interviewed Apr 2012 (took a day)
I submitted a rough application online. I was contacted about 2 weeks later and the lady asked me general application questions such as prior work experience, questions about my driving record, what others would say about my work ethic, how I heard about the job and why I wanted to work there. It was just like filling out an application, just verbally. I would suggest coming up with good answers before hand as to why you want to work there, and why you want that specific position.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Englewood, CO (took 3 weeks)
Having previously applied for a position I had completed Dish's various pre-employment tests (Wonderlic, Personality Survey, Reasoning Test, technology knowledge assessment). First contact was a very brief phone interview (3 minutes), I answered brief questions about my background and experience with job specific technology. An interview with 2 department managers and a tentative interview with the business unit's VP was scheduled shortly after the phone interview, via email.
The live interview lasted around 30-40 minutes. The two interviewers told me more about the position, answered my preliminary questions and asked me 5-7 standard behavioral interview questions. After I had met with the first two managers, I was asked to meet the VP of the business unit I had applied with. We met for about 10 minutes. He gave me a detailed overview of the business unit and its functions. I answered a few more questions about my background.
The following day I received a call from H.R. telling me they would be moving forward with background and drug screening. After completing the drug screening I received an offer 8 business days later.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Katy, TX (took 3+ weeks)
The interview process was one of the best I've had so far. The first thing I did was apply online which took about 2 hours and consisted of the personality and skills test. About a week later I was contacted for a phone interview which was very laid back and easy. At the end of the interview they told me they were moving me on to a one on one interview the coming Friday. The one on one was once again very laid back and easy. The head manager actually told me to lean back and relax. The question were all very easy mainly questions about a/v setup and networking. Three days after the one on one I received a phone call stating that I had been moved on to the last step of the interview process which was a drug test, background check and reference check. About a week and a half after I received that phone call I got an email offering me the job. I accepted and was given a day to go sign my new hire paper work and I start training on the 30th.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in El Paso, TX (took a day)
I applied online and took the first part of the assesment. They called for me to come in and take the second part of the assesment. I passed so they set me up to come in for an interview. I waited for like over and hour past my appointment time and met with two different people. The questions they asked were somewhat hard to find an answer for and kind of difficult.
